Re: Liberty Bell Gold coins and Silver Medal
You can read what one of them is saying here: https://milesperday.com/2026/07/us-mint-releasing-liberty-bell-coins-on-7-16-26/ Don't underestimate the points & miles credit card community! They'll leap at the prospect of knocking out the $20k minimum spend requirement for an Amex Business Platinum sign up bonus in… -
Re: Understanding the Silver Eagle and the 2019S Reverse Proof. 29,775 Mintage
You obviously put a lot of thought into this, but you also made a lot of specific predictions, which can be dangerous. Other wildcards - changing demographics (diminishing collector base), and collectors who are disgusted with the way Mr. Ryder engineered this debacle. Speaking for myself with almost all of the SEs to… -
Re: 1964 ACCENT HAIR in PCGS PR69DCAM!!!??? My Unicorn coin!
Originally posted by: SanctionII I just read this thread and since I enjoy the niche areas of 1950-1970 Proof and SMS coinage I took a peak at Coin Facts. I assume the Coin Facts photo of the 1964 PF69 DCAM AH half dollar is the coin that is discussed in this thread (if my assumption is wrong let me know). A very eye… -
Re: 1885 CC Morgan-NewP- GTG---- conservation service candidate? (Grades in. Posted pg 3)
Well, it's cracked and cleaned up.... Acetone didn't do the job so a diluted dip was in order. What's done is done..... We'll see what comes of it. No turning back now! The cartwheel visualized on my photos is as much a product of the lighting as anything else. I was using some very hard little Ikea lamps. I could easily… -
Re: How not to buy silver
I'm sorry I'm dense: what happened here? Someone went to a shop wanting to buy eagles at $1.60 over melt and was turned down, so they offered $2.60 and were still turned down (rudely, apparently)? I understand that dealers buying wholesale have to pay a fair amount per coin. But do dealers pay that much of a premium per… -
Re: I know, DON"T CLEAN, but...
That is a box on IHCs. Do not touch those with anything more than what is mentioned here. They are what they are. Take out the rolls one at a time and pull the nicest coins out of the tubes to eventually put 2x2's. Look for being able to read all or most of Liberty on anything before 1884 and the have the coin in uniform… -
Re: What do you guys think of this rainbow toned 1964 proof Kennedy - real or AT?

It's AT - sort of. I say "sort of" because it happened by accident. About a year ago I was experimenting with various methods to try and remove milk spots (the obverse is covered with them). I tried all kinds of stuff; mineral oil, denatured alcohol, acetone, Ezest, MS70, vinegar, baking soda, etc. I even tried… -
Irish finds

It's been a while since last post.. I've had less time for MD'ing than I would have liked, but I have managed to do some quick hunts in a new country... Ireland!! Oh the possibilities here, I really wish I'd had more time.. I did find some stuff though. This post will only show some of the coins, and in uncleaned condition… -
Re: Cheerios Dollar Obverse Die Characteristics?
<< <i>Here's what I don't get...these were made early for the boxes right? They made them shipped them to cheerios then they changed the design right? SO who actually found one in the cheerios packing that wasn't it? Is is just speculation that they couldn't match up. The markers look there, the mint mark placement is… -
