Re: 1985 Topps Football Thread
I would be interested in upgrading two cards from my 1985 Patriots team set. Currently these two are PSA 7s. Number 320 - TL NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS TL REFUSING TO BE DENIED TONY COLLINS and card number 324 - 1985 TOPPS TONY FRANKLIN. I would love to upgrade to PSA 8 or 9. Also, thanks to FabFrank with the Tony Eason Card.… -
Re: Pop Question
An easy way to look up pops is to go to Heritage's website and check the auction archives for the specific coin and grade that you want and simply click on one of the auctions and the population in both PCGS and NGC is listed. Bob i just checked it for you PCGS lists 6 in F12 with 314 graded higher and 324 total NGC lists… -
Re: Stacks seems like they are clueless
<< <i>When does the Americana catalog come out? I have not received it yet, and it would be nice to have it arrive today so I can enjoy perusing it with a glass of Chateau Petrus. >> sadly, it is not even available online, just under four weeks away from the auction. I do hope they have some of the nicer items from the… -
Re: The series' of various card sets
1951 Bowman is broken out into 1-252 and a high-number series of 253-324. 1953 Bowman B/W is a single 64-card series. 1955 Topps is broken out into 1-160 and a "high" series of 161-210 which is more difficult to find. Cards 175, 186, 203 and 209 were never issued which caused cards 170, 172, 184 and 188 to be double… -

Re: Is it really worth the time to put up images of your cards in the registry?
I know how you feel Boggs. I have scanned approximately 200 cards out of a 324 card set. Many of them are in my safe deposit box, so having the scans give me the ability to "view" them 24/7. It also serves as further proof of ownership for insurance purposes. Finally, (as you have stated) I hope it gives others the chance… -

Re: Set Breakdown: 1951 Bowman
I would note that the high numbers (253-324) are short printed and that the first series (1-36) is the most difficult to find of all the low number series (at least in high grade). Also notable is that Stan Musial and Satchel Paige are not on cards in this set. I'm sure there are a couple of others, but they don't come to… -
Re: 1921 and 1921-S Zerbe and 1921 Chapman Proof Morgan Dollars
PCGS did originally label the Philly as Proof with the Zerbe designation. I recall getting a so-called Zerbe graded as Proof-62 in the late 1980's. Not sure when they changed over to SP. Just found one in a Heritage May 2003 auction as Proof Zerbe. I notice the PCGS category number, 7431, is the same as now used for Zerbe… -
