Re: Advice on Buying an Opened 1960 Topps Baseball Vending Box
<< <i>............my beef it isn't with you or Lee or anybody else here except when I see a scammer come on here......... >> You started this, not me. When I first started posting here over 4 1/2 year ago you accused me of being part of some poker affiliate that was trying to sign up new players. How the hell could you… -
Re: Is the popularity of the unopened pak market in decline?
I think GAI had a lot to do with killing the market. Between reseals and bogus grocery cellos the perception is that most of this stuff is bad. Add in PAOutdoorsman and the guy currently resealing on ebay and you've got a lot of scammers out there, both with graded and ungraded material. Nothing worse than buying something… -
Re: Low feedback bidders
I had my account suspended for 2 weeks last year due to a low FB bidder bidding on more than one of my auctions then someone else reported me for shilling. Now, do I think low FB buyers should be allowed to bid? Absolutely! How else will they earn their FB? But if you're selling sports cards (mainly graded) it's probably… -

Re: definition of "legal Tender" has suddenly changed in Briton...what about in the US and Canada?
Another example of scammers breaking things for the rest of us. Though, to be fair, the Royal Mint should never have accepted credit card payments for them. As for the legal tender definitions, it hasn't changed at all. The only thing that has changed is the Mint actually issuing advice to Banks on what they should or… -
Re: National Collector's Mint has really stepped in it this time: 14mg clad gold buffalo "tribute p

This kind of advertisement ultimately leads to buyers getting burned and giving gold yet again some bad press......"hucksters"..."scammers"..."thieves." Once they've found out they've been burned, they might not ever go back to gold in any form. Maybe this kind of negative sentiment for gold is a good thing in the eyes of… -
Re: Paypal Dispute
He either got the card just late. Or got scared when Paypal contacted him and dropped the case. It may be possible that he filed on the wrong card too. It does not matter what Paypal sent you to do they would have only accepted one of those three options and without DC you would have been SOL no matter on anything else. I… -
Re: Selling on Ebay no longer worthwhile...
Wouldn't be the "fake slab scare" keeping me away from your auctions or bidding low. Would be the auction. First off, the coin pictured in your first example (the '62 franklin in the NGC holder) looks spotty...is that the photo or the coin that is causing that look? Then, you put in the title stuff I run away from that is… -
Re: Does anyone care to discuss the Frauds perpertrated on collectors in the past??
Fraud is too strong a word for what is described. However, the current situation where cents and nickels cost more to produce than their face value is poor fiscal management. Add the paper dollar and its relative high cost to reprint and replace, vs. a circulating dollar coin and that is many millions down the drain every… -
Re: What is the probability of finding a 1916-D ...
<< <i>I took the time to really look at the feedback from one of these "power sellers" a few months ago. With over 10,000 positives, it took a bit of searching to find what I thought I would. A negative was invariably followed by one "buyer" adding 25-30 positives in ONE MINUTE. This essentially buried the negative so it…
