Re: Was it a mistake for CW to publish the flaws in counterfeit PCGS slabs?

<< <i>This week's CW provides an excellent guide to detecting Chinese fake PCGS slabs. The problem, of course, is that the counterfeiters probably read CW. It won't be long before the fakes are perfected. Now, I suppose perfection was inevitable, but was it a good idea for CW to speed things along? >> Andy, I have often… -
Re: First time seller-already scamming
I think you may be too quick to call him a scammer. While the OC is missing from the title, he does mention it clearly in the description. Could it be that the title didnt have any more characters available in it to include the OC? Either way, it IS still a 9....albeit OC If I sold a 2005 Ford on ebay and didnt say that it… -
Re: Coinguy1 is a real troublemaker...

Often, I am tempted to expose numerous sellers on Ebay, for the scammers and crooks that they are. But, I try to be fair and selective about it. I will hit them with the negative feedback when I know they are selling a coin they couldn't possibly own or when I know the coin is fake. For example, in the auction linked in… -
Re: Is this the same coin??? If so another ebay scam
I don't defend scumbags, but neither do I condemn the innocent. Understand that someone who hasn't the faintest idea how to get a picture up on EBay may just know how to "use" someone else's pic to help advertise their own coin that is for sale. That would seem like a perfectly innocent thing for a noob to do. However… -
Re: PayPal fined $150,000 ....
Paypal is still holding $175 of my money hostage because I got scammed... I got taken on an $850 purchase... Paypal refused to reverse the charge, so I filed with American Express and they found in my favor and denied the payment to Paypal... how do they resolve it? They suspend me for violating the user agreement (by… -
Re: Teletrade auctions...
BOOM... Guess you never went to local country auctions just for the hell of it. You always knew who was bidding and what they were looking for. One didn't need a feedback profile to know, because you often knew them personaly. Why do people want to keep their buying habits so secret at auction now. Sorry, people do have a… -
Re: Can someone explain how an ebay account is hijacked?
The e-mail you recieved did not come from the referenced e-bayer. The scammer just picked his ID as an identity to represent. Clicking on the link almost certainly caused no problem. I click on them all the time and my spyware/virus software never finds anything there. What they wanted you to do is to log into their fake… -
Re: Simple PayPal scam (worked on me)
I thought that packages/items had to be mailed out within 7 days....but then again, it doesn't really matter cos paypal doesn't check up on that; plus the delivery confirmation never actually states when the package was dropped out or whatever. Always something new PP....sheesh. Don't feel too bad.....I was taken for $216.… -
Re: I can't believe it happened to me (Paypal).........
That won't work now. It has to be sent within 7 days of payment. It would work too the 7 day rules does not always apply. I recently filed on a seller who after 15 days never shipped the item, he then shipped the wong item with DC. I did not close it because once you file and close the dispute that is the end of it you… -
Re: This eBay coin doctor is dangerously good.
Russ has a point, maybe not with this guy getting too good to fool anyone, but if people do come up with a "recipe" to artificially tone coins where graders cannot decipher them from NT, it will put an end to premiums for toned coins, and everyone will eventually just accept that toning may or may not be naturally occuring…
