Re: Hijacked? or just cheap gold.
<< <i>The last two items he sold were located in Utah-now he's in Florida? >> Smart man. It's cold in Utah. BTW, I used to live in MO. Seriously, looks 50/50. If I wasn't so busy I'd bid on it since I'm pretty good at sniffing out a fraudster. But I wouldn't send any money until I was sure. However, if it goes for way… -
Re: Is there something wrong with this 1840 Seated Dollar?

<< <i>this Chinese fake has been yankeed from sale. >> On a side note, I did receive a message back from the seller. It was a simple " Thank you". Sometimes guys get duped, too. He may have been the victim of a "snipe" program, winning a coin and re-listing, all the while being ignorant and not knowing that he had a… -
Re: RCC'er helps nab eBay counterfeit seller
Like anyone else, charged with a crime, this person deserves her day in court. But... I have a sincere admiration for all the honest coin dealers I've met over the years. (yes, they do exist) I know that it's all too easy to rip an over-anxious newbie, or a "little old lady". There are quite a few professional dealers that… -
Re: Okay dealers, what's the big F'n deal???

<< <i>You didn't use the secret password phrase ( question and answer). So I'll give it to you so you can use it the nest time. Toi la mot ke ngu dan dot nat. Anh vui long bao ve va benh vuc toi duoc khong? There, now you know. Tom >> Tom, That 's only the question. Here the answer: Neu anh la mot nguoi dot nat thi anh… -
Re: Returning coins, a Major sin????
you now are changing from the seller is a scammer to now "all I wanted to do is return the coin". you slammed this person's reputation and now you want us to feel sorry for you because all you really wanted to do is return a raw (stupid) coin and seem to forget the characted assaination, and even though it matters little i… -
Re: Dealers who are "buying all coins"
I think it's a shame that the coin industry has such a bad reputation that some people will only buy slabbed coins even when the slab is worth more than the coin. Case in point, I was at a local coin shop and a woman entered and asked to purchase the "New nickels with at least a 68 grade on the case" The owner told her… -
Re: $326,000 refund Grading Services Revealed
I don't get it. I don't recognize any of those three as established TPGs, nor would I ever buy a coin from them. Are people that gullible that they will take someone's recommendation that "Bob's Slabbing, Inc. says it is MS73, therefore it's worth oodles and boodles of munny." without bothering to check the… -
Re: Court ruling coming soon about feedback and scams on ebay
Everyone needs to remember that Ebay is partial to sellers. They make thier money from sellers, not bidders. A good examle of this is the way they display feedback. They do not let you go directly to a sellers negative feedback. You have to page through pages of feedback just to look at someone's negatives. Also, did you… -
Re: What do you think? Can you enhance photos if it makes the coin...
Being that I would eventually like this to be a livelyhood for me I try to get the most accurate pictures I can from my camera and NOT photoshop...If I can't take an accurate pic with my camera I really don't want to have to tweak it with photoshop. I illustraded in another thread how I can take pictures of Morgan Dollars… -
Re: My view of everything with an apology to 80sJunkie......

Well put, guys. Gary attempted to take advantage of fellow board memebers for money. I don't care if it's a well respected memeber or an obnoxious a-hole like axtell, you don't do that. Many of us have butted heads in the past, but situations like these help confirm that regardless of our differences, we will still watch…
