Re: When a buyer claims card never arrived
This seems like it would be the easiest scam in the world to run on eBay. Buy an expensive card with PayPal, then if delivery was not confirmed, claim it didn't arrive. Get your money back and sell the card. Nice. It's just as hard on an honest buyer, because the seller thinks he's trying to rip him off. Well, maybe not… -
Re: Buying autographs Paypal -see want list 80 to 90% Beckett
<< <i>There will always be those who want to buy the best cards for 10% book! Who puts up a list like that and tells everyone that he is buying for third book and if you dont like it stuff it?? You better believe Im going to be all over this guy like brown on crap! I still don't know why this guy is still here, when ebay… -
Re: To block or not to block...

<< <i>I like communication, so an opportunity to respond to an excited collector hoping to score on a venue like eBay (2nd to amazon and a whole bunch of other places ) is nobody I'd block, eh ? Seems like a nice fellow. Maybe not as articulate as some might want, but a willingness to deal and maybe even WIN at the highest… -
Re: why oh why?..........whaaaaaaa! My first neg on the 'bay

I think i will be ok, it can be hard to be cool and rational when the buyer straight up calls you a liar and scammer. There was no where to go with this one after a couple of emails explaining the scenario. My main complaint (besides the obvious) is contact me first before running to ebay, i always give the seller the… -
Re: Is it possible to somehow open a coin cache and replace the coin?
Yes, it is possible, though difficult with most slabs. There was a dealer (!) that was doing this with the heat sealed ICCS (Canadian) packets. When ANACS relaunched, their early holders were not sealed tightly and a gentle twist could get them open. There was another documented scam with big two holders, where the holders… -
Re: Kudos to an Ebay seller That sold me some Counterfeits

<< <i>Getting duped is a sure fire way to kill one's interest in numismatics. You should send the seller a few real pieces just as a thank you and to encourage him to keep collecting. >> Call me overly suspicious but the seller may have just back tracked knowing he got caught. Maybe he had scammer's remorse or maybe he… -
Re: Fake PSA 10 Alcindor (Jabbar) Rookie Listed on Ebay
Looks like they are BACK! They are covering the top of the label under a new account now. This is more than likely the same card /same person selling it/ etc. If it is coincidence and totally random that we have two scammers with same card, 1 PSA 10 and 1 BCCG 10 we have a serious issue about to influx the market. Now they… -
Re: Another ebay question - looks fishy
I am going to be blunt. You would be a MORON to go through with this sale. Red flag is a small, hard to see photo on a $600-700.00 card. Walk away flag if cert # is for a different card. Unless seller is willing to send you a large clear scan of the card, do not give him your money. If you go through with the sale and he… -
Re: Why, Why, Why,

This is population control. Stuff like this is the "natural disaster" of the coin market, that'll claim the weak or unprepared as victims. They'll pay moon money to a scammer, get mad at a real dealer when he gives them the bad news, and then they'll realize they've been made chumps by the time they go to their second or… -
Re: So a dude from Cali calls my buddy & offers him a PSA 10 Jordan RC, PSA 9 Aaron RC & PSA 8 C
Vito - he's not an alt. He's a scammer pure and simple. He got booted off Net54 (where the name he gave on registration was Edwin Arroyo - spelled different ways in different places), and his ISP that he used to register there comes back to Tijuana, Mexico. The name is likely fake. The San Diego County area of California…
