Re: Early Gold Alteration-Conclusion

I am going to type out a reply, but must admit that I am flying a bit blind given the OP has taken out all the information and I am inferring the rest from subsequent posts. If I understand correctly, we are writing about a 1798 half eagle that had been in a PCGS AU55 rattler holder and was subsequently regraded into a new… -

I have been going to shows for about twenty years now and collecting seriously for about the same time. I just came back from the Clearwater FL show and it was a very enjoyable experience. I went with Merc and several other forum members. It was a very robust show. I picked up alot of bargains, particularly toned coins and… -

When these wore out or were broken, they were smashed into small pieces then put into… -
Re: @crazyhounddog needs our prayers...another catastrophic fire in his city
The present fire is huge as I saw footage shot twelve miles from Paradise and it looked like the photo posted above. Much of Paradise itself may be OK as there isn't much left to burn but the surrounding areas are burning even faster than the Paradise fire a few years ago. Let's hope for a change in weather as that seems… -

FSHO: 12 Uncirculated Morgans, different dates/mints

Good evening, all. A friend of the family handles estate liquidations, and he turns to me whenever US coins come to light. So on his behalf, I am listing 12 strictly uncirculated Morgans that were originally marketed by the U.S. Silver Dollar Society … “a service of First Coinvestors, Inc.” I vaguely recall this outfit… -
