Re: What are your favorite cards from 2000 to present?
South I figured you were just having some fun. I don't think Boo meant anything deep either. I believe the problem here lies in the fact that there hasn't been a lot of good conversations about anything lately. I enjoy the updates on ebay and scammers but I also enjoy hearing what you guys are up to and what you enjoy… -
Re: Thoughts on selling wax wrappers and empty boxes?

It’s a shame that some are used in scams, but I think they should be sold, as people do collect them. Some are very rare! I don’t mean to derail your thread, but take trimmed cards for example. Whenever one surfaces on ebay with an honest description, scammers bid on those too… I was watching this card that ended tonight… -
Re: How you’d decide on your “HANDLE” name?
For my RCI business card (shows) and Strip Clubbing (vip) handle - Derek. This is based on John Derek (photographer, Director circa 1968-70 who married is main (swimsuit) model Bo). For here school (mascot) where I got my MS in accounting. I like handles that reflect on my background, various hobbies. I am also an avid… -
Re: Have you ever sold a coin that is presently worth 10 -15 % of what you sold for ?
In the late 1970's those brown-box Ikes were selling at $100 or more. You had to be careful, though, because the "scammers" were cracking the cases and placing a clad inside. I remember around 2003 when 1973-S PCGS PR69DCam Jefferson Nickels were a low pop coin and I was trying to get one graded for my set. I managed two… -
Re: The Best Things about the Forums...
Another thing that I really appreciate is the honesty and integrity of the vast majority of the forum members. I realize that this is more of a BST aspect, but I personally find it amazing that I’ve had around 600+ transactions with nearly 160 different members, and NEVER had a deal go bad. I also realize that there have… -
Re: Don't whiz on your coins!

"Some whizzed coins will have nice cartwheel and sort of "to good to be true" look until you look closer." Whizzed coins have no cartwheel. The have a flat sheen that could be mistaken for luster if you do not know what you are looking at. Look at the Indian the OP put up. The light just cascades across the whole coin with… -
Re: Real slab?
Greetings, After noticing this thread, I decided to look up the certification number of this coin: http://www.pcgs.com/Cert/26913158/ . This is showing up as a Barber Dime. The image of the coin itself also does not look right and this new seller has 0 feedback. Also, this seller does not accept PayPal and is only… -
Re: Semi-OT but eBay related- sales tax on an eBay item from Illinois?
Not saying this particular seller is/isn't do it for this reason, but if you think about it, it's another "perfect" ebay scam. There have been all sorts of scams over the years, on ebay, and this one could be one of the safest scams (for the scammer) or all..... Set it up to take taxes. Majority of people may not be happy… -
Re: ARTIFICIAL OR NATURAL TONING PATTERNS & METHODS
This is why people leave this forum. Panda bought by reputable company and the 88 was reviewed by grader from top grading company said it is Good. I will have it sent for grade instead of selling. The person who gave green light worked 20 years grading Morgan's looked under the scope . I must be really bad taking pictures… -
Re: Nice Morgan but I don't believe that I have seen this newer PCGS holder.
I'm sorry. I am getting confused by "HOLDER MANIA". Holder 1.whatever, 2.whatever, 3.whatever, and on and on. Let's not forget all the retro carp. Doily-new and on and ont. Shields, sniffers, whatever. Not to mention First Strike and all the other special labels that I mostly despise. I cannot keep them straight so this…
