Re: UPDATE: Buyer wants out of their coin purchase
<< <i>I initiated the transfer of his payment to my bank account this morning before he changed his mind. Is there any way PayPal will let me refund payment after transferring funds? >> Yes, I believe there is no problem here. Just click on the PayPal transaction and look for the refund link. Refund all but $25. PayPal… -
Re: How are your eBay coin sales doing?
<< <i>It depends on what is being sold. Here's my take as I sell rather frequently A few weeks ago, I recieved back a nice selection of early type coins from PCGS including some 1855 half cents, three cents LC and early Draped half. They did very well on e-bay ! However, the Morgans did not, but I expected that. Recently,… -
Re: The darkest time in the coin collecting world...
dorkkarl - Could you expand on your comment, please? I am a 4 month board lurker (this is my first post), and have learned a lot more in the last 4 months than I expected, but this topic is very interesting and I hadn't seen it addressed quite like this until today. I first started to collect in 1978 at the age of 9, and… -
Re: What is GREAT and NOT great about Paypal?
As a buyer, I like using Paypal as it gives me extra protection with a credit card. I always pay my CC balance at the end of each month so I don't pay interest. Also, I have the power of charging back on my CC as a last resort, which I haven't yet had to do fortunately. As a seller, I believe it makes good business sense… -
Re: Fake Desert Shield
I've also noticed people on eBay selling 1991 Topps packs, stating that they might be Desert Shield packs, which is then netting them a ton more money for their regular 1991 Topps packs. These sellers are being deceitful and borderline fraudulent, because they obviously know their packs are just regular ones. I came across… -
Re: ebay changes forthcoming june 19th (ugly 1st paragraph)
<< <i>Hi, Lets get real here!.........If you sell a slab that has scratches and did NOT described as such in your listing then you deserve to have a return................Why not just describe as it is...........will it cost you ten or 20 dollars ??.....and if it is that bad why didn't you send it back and have it… -
Re: Prices Realized at Auction vs. Prices Asked on the BST Forum
One other valid consideration is Heritage and many other auction venues have fees that are now 10% - 30% and you often do not get your proceeds from an auction sale very fast. Heritage closed results as well vary, many will say an item sold on a given day at heritage for a price. The same coin often will be sold later for… -
Re: Is this a deal, a scam or a "sorry for the misprint"
<< <i> << <i> << <i>(Buyer left neg fb: "This guy's a crook. Used someone else's tracking number. Claims he sent without.") This is the same scam that Dberry reported last month. How do these people get correct tracking numbers? ( Right time & right city) >> By generating bogus shipping labels. >> My seller used a tracking… -
Re: Ebay sale where buyer requests seller to ship to a different address UPDATE
A few items to update. After telling buyer we were done, I received several emails, among them, this.... DEAR SIR__WE ARE NOT DONE!! You quoted the word "honor" when you originally accepted my offer and moneys--you have acted dishonourably and are in my opinion a disgrace to your nation. Sadly i will have no alternative… -
Re: Joe Orlando's SMR column
<< <i>It's a shame the c---suckers of the hobby have even made authentication necessary. >> I remember the days before any grading. I walked into a coin shop to buy some supplies, and the experienced coin shop owner had just been scammed and showed me the coin. A 1909-S penny had been altered to make a 1909-S VDB. Back…
