Re: Yet another paypal ebay rant
<< <i>hehe, the only reason why I used ebay to buy this is because it is a difficult to find item, and I needed it quickly (airmail, not ground). that strategy worked out awesome. I replied to paypal within 10 minutes every time they updated the case, but note that every time I email them here, a different person answers… -
Re: GROUP RIP: 1975 OPC Wax Rip #2! TWO Boxes this time! Scans Posted... A Couple of Grades Posted!
<< <i>I opened my next two packs and got a Tom Seaver which has a wax stain on front (no big deal) and the rest are commons. Condition was pretty close to the first packs so overall alot of chances at 8s and 9s commons. On the issue of people calling out that A. The cards are altered and B. The packs are not legit. First… -

Re: Ebay ratings....
detroitfan2: You seem to be a bit giddy with the "power" ebay has given you. << <i>Item as described: Almost always give a 5 for PSA graded cards, since they pretty much always are as described. >> With the exception of scammers or when the case is cracked from head to toe, exactly when/how is a PSA graded card not as… -
Re: New ebay scam! Prey on the BIN greedy...
I really wish E-Bay would crack down on these shipping scammers. There are so many auctions out there which are for items far below their actual worth, but the seller tries to make up for that by charging an insane amount for shipping. (I.E. item is worth 20 bucks, they sell it for ten but charge 40 for shipping). I think… -
Re: Migration From Moderns to Bust or Seated Coinage

I’m curious, what about that picture tells you that the coin has been cleaned. Is it the crap around the stars or that it seems to shine without any luster? I don't collect this series, so others will provide a more informed response. But I am certain from those pictures the coin was cleaned. And the first tell is, as you… -
Re: Your worst shipping nightmare
One of these posts reminded me of another horror story. This time my early naivete had nothing to do with it. Bought a vintage SGC card from import_export_co. They didn't ship it, didn't ship it, didn't ship it. Kept on stringing me along with reassuring e-mails until PayPal's 30-day chargeback period expired. PayPal was… -
Re: Strange case of the 1925-S Buffalo nickel
<< <i>I don't know how long it takes to do something like this, but I imagine it would take a couple of hours, what with the precision required and the tediousness of positioning everything just right. >> Not as long as you might think. Drill press type set up and a monted jig for holding the coin. Use a band saw to slice…
