Re: Thoughts on a Few Cards... Jordan RC, Thomas NNOF, HG Vintage (Scans Added)
I am by no means an expert but the Jordan front looks good. The Fleer logo doesn't have the printing flaw a lot of fakes do. Of course, I'm going off old information on fake Fleer Jordans and it's certainly within likelihood that scammers have improved over the years. A high-res scan would certainly help with determining… -
Re: Just another Fleabay rant!
It's a joke there now, it really is. Snatching payments at will when scammers file claims, not allowing negs on buyers, the fees are ri-god-darm-diculous, and on and on and on. Once my round of selling is over in a few weeks, I'll be taking a break from Ebay for quite awhile. It is the suxor. RON FRIGGIN' BURGUNDY "Why are… -
Re: Check out this ebay sellers comments about shipping charges
Certain buyers prefer a stamp and a plain white envelope. They're called scammers. As stated above - I don't think $8 is too much if they are packaged properly. As a buyer if I agree to the shipping charge, but I expect the seller will use all of the money wisely. I am trusting that he uses the money in a way to protect… -
Re: Something Every Collector Should See - Re: Counterfeit Awareness
As long as PSA decides to keep doing what they're dong and using the same slabs, the problem will not go away. The scammers will always be there. It's unfortunate that collectors must educate themselves with what the flips & slabs should look like. Why is it so hard for PSA to change holders? Shoebox style. Never heard a… -
Re: Something smells fishy here
I can't see any of the auctions from here but I would call paypal right away and alert them that the sales are suspicious and make sure they are holding the funds. They sometimes get caught in the middle and the scammer ends up scamming paypal. PP should appreciate the tip and treat you right if you save them money. --Jerry -
Re: I don't think I am going to purchase coins on ebay ever again.
As long as you're careful whom you buy from and how, eBay can be a veritable treasure trove. Sure, we tend to concentrate on the scammers and thieves around here, but for every one of those I'm willing to bet there are 50 purchases that go hunky dory. Picture-reading is indeed a necessary art. Some examples: Auction: In… -
Re: Dealer Distrust and the US Mint Product Market Boom...Cause and Effect?
I can't speak for anyone else but when I order something from the Mint I know what I'm going to get and I know it's going to be authentic. Can't get that level of trust anywhere else. Certainly there are great dealers but scammers are getting much more sophisticated. If they can fool a guy who does this for a living, I'm… -
Re: For Sale- Collection in this folder
I thought craigslist is full of scammers and lowballers , especially for sportscard, i saw a lot of ads like $150 for 33 goudey babe ruth , lou gehrig etc... i rarely pay attention to anything listed in the collectible section. If no local buyers, I'll take some pic and gather more information in a few weeks and repost it… -
Re: In light of the BST mess
Unfortunately it is going to get worse before it gets better, you know, with the economy and all spinning downward the $ needs for some will outweigh the morality of the situation. I caught and read a super thread the other day where a forum put their collective heads together and caught the guy. Our group has done this on… -
