Re: Would you consider this coin third party graded?
That's one ugly nickel. How that was ever MS anything from NGC is a mystery to me. I guess if there isn't friction breaking the luster it has to be MS, but the thing looks like there are hardly any details in the hair (poorly struck) and the photo looks lifeless. Maybe lighting, maybe no luster from dipping. gack. I've… -
Re: Fraud Alert- Sacagawea Dollar on a Cent Planchet PCGS MS-66
<< <i>I just realized where the photos came from: I bought the coin on Ebay, already slabbed by PCGS, in the spring. His photos have to have come from the original eBay listing. I know of at least three bidders who have removed their bids, so whatever it closes for will NOT be the market for the coin. >> Thanks Fred. That… -
Re: Warning to all: Most sophisticated eBay scam yet?
I don't understand why eBay lets anyone other than the buyers send emails to sellers after an auction is completed. It sure took eBay long enough to pull the scammers link. I emailed eBay within 5 mins. of getting it. I can only imagine how many people got sucked into it. BTW I rec'd no official response back from eBay… -
Re: How should I resond to this ebay seller....
I might be a devil's advocate here but as long as you get the cards is it really worth giving him a neg and then possibly getting a retalitory neg back? Assuming you get the cards I would just give him a soft positive and move on with life. He's a scammer, he's scum, he's circumventing postal rules, yadda, yadda, yadda...… -
Re: How do you deal with 0 feedback bidders?
I request a credit check. All kidding aside, it depends on the item. If it is a high priced item, find out where they are located. It could be a credible bidder starting a new account. It could also be a kid borrowing mommy or daddys credit cards, or an overseas scammer. You don't want to deter any good prospects, but you… -
Re: Think this Orr USA Test, howe rc, and gretzky rc eBay auction is legit?
local pickup can be arranged if desired This is usually a good sign. Scammers don't want to meet you face to face. As Bob says, though, it looks like the bidding has gone too high for mostly low-grade cards. I don't know what "book" he got those values from, but the Topps Gretzky price range in Beckett is only $175-$400… -
Re: What's that ebay link for frauds and hucksters?

GEE...Toadroller6!! How surprising!! This is one of PJD1966 "the Savannah Scammers" best customers!! With over 130 positive feedbacks from her!! (Search his positive feedback) OBVIOUS SCAM Let's see...1993 rolls... each at 50 cents = $996.50. But yet put a "$30,000" coin in the one of the rolls?? Give me a break!! But… -
Re: Here we go again NEW GRADING SERVICE VGS
He bought a 53 Topps Mantle reprint and a 33 Goudey Ruth reprint back in September. Now he is selling his "genuine" cards. I guess he prefers to own reprints. He has also listed many other lots. On his Mantle card he says it is in "unbelievable" condition. I'll take his word for it that the card is un(not)believable. Mr.… -
Re: Sending eBay payments
If you used a USPS money order remember that it can't be cancelled and has no expiration date. If you receive a refund on a USPS money order and it later turns out to have been cashed by the original payee they will bill you for the amount of the money order. Some scammers are actually using the "I never received your… -
Re: Who can hook me up with some wax?
Yes AlanB, one day Airjordan is a little teeanger living with his parents, and then suddenly he owns a card shop...sounds a little diingenuous to me. It's like battier, who on seperate occasionas has explained shipping delays because 1) he's only 14, his parents have to drive him to the PO, and 2) then he says his wife…
