Re: EBay - ANA Coin Community Workshop Tonight
Is this blaming the victim? One further response posted just recently concludes with: "The more vigilant our Community is, the more likely we'll be successful rooting out the bad guys." Seems the more vigilant I've been, the more I've seen the same scammers sell the same fake or misrepresented junk again and again. It's as… -
Re: How does a dealer or seller "search" a case ?
I bought a sealed case of Exquisite basketball from blowout cards a few years ago, and lost a lot of money on perhaps the worst case of this product ever sold. I always wondered if the case was tampered with, but I remember it being sealed - what I can't remember is if it was UD factory tape or not. I think you always have… -
Re: Deceptive counterfeit carson city morgan for sale
There are some scammers and shady folks, I have had a few folks come in knowing what they were selling was bogus, but as soon as they realized they were'nt dealing with a newbie, they quickly left. But I agree with mark, I have also had several people who really had no idea what they had was fake or not what they thought… -
scam - eBay Power Seller e-mail
Not sure if this has been brought up lately but be careful.. The e-mail looks very legit.. It looks like it's from eBay and invites you to be a power seller.. You click join and it takes you to a really well done eBay look alike where you need to login. By entering your user name and password you'll be sending the scammer… -
Re: Ebay seller asking me to pay through Iban Bic
The thing about it is, I've read some online complaints about Ebay scammers asking for payment by wiring money to their account, and afterwards the customer never receives the item they purchased. There's no protection for the customer if they wire the money. What's to keep the seller from just stealing the money. I'm sure… -
Re: Just got this off another board. Craigslist & Steiner scam........
Again, it seems like someone thought they could make a quick buck. Reading his first comment, he is unemployed and thought he could flip it for something more. This is the main thing scammers look for are people who think they can make a quick buck. I know it may sound harsh, but this guy had a chance to learn a lesson and… -
Re: Fake pack by tjs6121?
Good info - Thanks. You'd think these POS criminals who constantly do these scam packs would be "clever enough" to put in the right size gum. I mean nobody is gonna chew the gum anyway...couldn't be too hard to make in a kitchen some sort of pink slab confection to the right size, and place it in the fake unopened… -
Re: hey shtterbug8 / hartmen
<< <i> << <i> << <i>Reported. Is his 1810 Bust half real? >> You night want to read this thread Link >> Where I first reported this scam. >> That's right. Thanks for the heads up derryb. Now who was it that scolded me for making fun of this scammers manicure? Looks like all his ebay auctions are down, for a while. Maybe… -
Re: Beckett VS PSA, pluses and minuses of both..

<< <i>That said, my confidence in PSA slabs continues to diminish with every fake and switch uncovered.... and PSA's (lack of) response. Fortunately what I collect is typically not a prime target for scammers, but I have infinitely more confidence in the tamper evident Beckett slab than I do PSA's offering. >> Scott: You… -
Re: ebay photo of the day
At least he admits he sucks at taking photos. Don;t you love these guys.....they charge mailing fees that are 30-50% of the value of their items and have top ratings.....I charge $3 and get killed in the ratings...... Thank God I haven't sold a coin on E-Bay for 3 months. No more headaches or worrying about scammers and…
