Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Bill, I thought I would paste over my comments from last night since it is likely that this is the thread that will have the legs. Thanks for the heads up on the tough cards and great scans! Pasted: I will admit to a certain growing affection for this set. You guys make up the cream of the crop, wholely responsible for… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Wow, especially that Parrish DK is a TOUGH one! Congrats on those Brent! I sent in a little over 50 cards (after going through them like for the 10th time!) including all of the ones that I need to finish the set with. I originally was going to piggyback on someone's sub and that fell through because of a delay on my part… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Spahn, It's been over 60 days....still waiting. I had a big hold up at first as I sent in my sub to another collector and I sent them payment. Payment was delayed in some way and he sent me back the cards and the check which ended up saving me about $100 ($6 bulk vs $5 special :ThumbsUp by the time I 'resubmitted' them… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Well, something really strange just happened with my Bell card. Upsala did not attempt to outbid the webfoot guy for some reason. I know he's active today cuz he outbid on the Stenhouse a couple of hours ago, which is currently at $275. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have the $214 for the Bell, but it just doesn't make… -

Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
New to the board. Hello everyone, I happened across this site some time ago and have spent some time reading thru all the previous posts. I have always loved the 84 Donruss set and once owned the set before it was stolen from me several years ago. After reading back thru all the posts I have a few questions for the… -

Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
<< <i>Bri, Glad to have you aboard ... feel free to pop in anytime... but, I must ask, why have you given up on building complete graded sets? -t >> Well, in general I sold off 95% of my complete sets, graded and ungraded. I had a nice run of ungraded, including 2x 1960 , 64, and 70-around 1990. Graded I had completed… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
I was going to send in a small amount to test the waters, but with the $5 dollar special I guess I will send in more. It may take awhile to get them back but man you just can't beat that price. If my funds hold together I plan on sending in 100 84 Donruss, 30 1973 Topps, 25 1978 Topps (Some from our recent rip) 20 1980… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Hi, After a week of going through my new to me 84 Donruss set. I have pulled the cards which were low pop commons or superstars that I feel have the best shot at grading high. There were some other nice cards, but the pop is too high to make good money on them. I'm going to send them in under the set registry $5.00 per…
