Re: Ebay seller 'gwb1944' check out all the fakes...UPDATE!
<< <i>I just received this email from one of the buyers of these phoney 'gwb1944' coins. ___________ Dear Tony, Ebay contacted me. They are shutting down the "3 Generation" coin site. Thank you for your help. All the best. M*** ___________________ >> Yes, I got that email from Mike, too! Nice to see we helped shut one… -
Re: Question for the group
There was another recent post about which hobby has the most scammers. I think it's amazing that collectors had to first worry about packs being tampered with. Then BBCE comes along and does their part to clean up the hobby, and now there might be people faking that. I know that 100 % certainty is impossible, but it just… -
Re: 1951 Bowman Mantle...past prices

<< <i> It's kind of amusing that the most obnixous character on these boards is police patrol on the newby guy. Bye bye friend. >> Just a side note: This board cannot survive without our "police patrols". To many scammers out there. When they get taken down here, they're either a newbie, or they've cost lots of people lots… -
Re: Updated: Heads up to Sellers that do not leave feedback first
Sellers should forget the lawyers, and just hire a few good hitmen. Seriously, considering the wide variety of people who sell on ebay, I'm surprised a seller has never gone "postal" and physically gone after one of these scammer buyers (especially the ones who add a false chargeback to the mix). I think I'd even… -
Re: Two Serious Question Re: Beckett, BGS and Raw Card Review
Look for cut marks on the slab. I think the guys who got scammed big got carc-savers that were cut on the side. I am guessing they cut right in the crease of the holder and then squeezed it back together. I have said it before, Beckett pretty much gave the scammers a crate of ammo and a trunk full of guns with the Beckett… -
Re: Just another crappy day on Ebay! Some !##%@% stole my photos and description!

<< <i>Well, somebody here on the forum managed to change their picture so that it showed up in the hijacked auction just recently. Jerry >> It can only be done if the scammer is dumb enough to link directly to your picture host. Here's a nice pic to use, should the need arise. I forget who gave it to me, but feel free to… -
Re: morgan collectors, does this coin interest you?
Before the big toned coin craze caught on, a coin with that type of color would typically trade either at or below the price of a white coin grade for grade. While that toning is not altogether horrible, it carries no premium as I see it. But now every Ebay scammer and nitwit in general who has a coin with a carbon spot on… -
Re: Check out this DIRT BAG...FINALLY OFF EBAY!

Sorry about you being ripped off.... Yes this guy looks like a real scumbag.. I assume this was your transaction with the 1959 mantle?? mantle << <i>AVOID!! THESE GUYS ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF BY CLAIMING PAYPAL ISSUES. SCAMMERS!!! >> << <i> you spent a lot of money on a very low feedback seller. Personally I would have… -
Re: HOw do yoU coMe A PowErSelLer oN EbAy as A CoiN SellEr?
<< <i>Most people are aware of this scam, but since this topic (invitations to be a Power Seller) is being brought up, another friendly warning is probably in order. A common phishing scam are the bogus Power Seller email invitations. Check the url of the link before you click on it! >> I'm a platinum powerseller. The… -
Re: Buyer leaves positive feedback, then files Paypal not received claim. UPDATE, 9/16.
I had an extended discussion with Paypal on the phone about this. They refunded me the money. I'm still debating whether to go after the scammer. Probably hard from a civil liability standpoint now since I have no damages. But I'll probably still refer the matter to my postal inspector buddy. In any case, score a hard…
