Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Al that's right. If you track back to the beginning of this thread you will find that the card is one of the 5 stubborn holdouts Bill needs to complete. The few that I've seen have been brutal. My card came from that high end raw set I got so that collector went through tons of 84' Donruss stuff just to come up with that… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
They'll have you send them back in to get corrected with specific instructions. I went through the trouble of asking about them and just haven't sent them in. I've got at least 3/4 of my DKs mislabeled, I think. I have to get around to submitting these few '84s that I have. Just can't seem to get the time to do the forms.… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Great results Ray. I'm getting ready to mail in some that I pulled from a factory set also. The set has been in plastic since I bought it back in 84 so I can only hope to get similar results....I'll settle for 9's, I'm not greedy!!! I also want to thanks all of the registry members that are working on this set who get me… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
<< <i>The guys who have been gobbling up the 84 D's on ebay for the past few months aren't on this thread or even registered with PSA yet that we know of. Upsalaallamerican has been paying whatever it takes to get the cards he needs. Upwards of $400 for PSA 10 commons with low pops. Pjpmint has been buying everything else.… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
I'm absolutely bored, and my set benefited. Entered in all my new submission stuff, and found a box that must have been lost in the move last year. Brought my set up to 45%, and a grade average of 9.04. Still lots of 8's that'll be upgraded, so I should go up a little after another two subs. After that I put scans of all… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
I do a similar thing with my bids (on the rare occasion that I am actually a buyer and not a seller). Since Ichiro is my favorite current player, I almost always end my bids with .51 Gonna be really interesting to see what I get back on my current sub. I only sent 25 cards in but about half were 84 D low pops. I sent this… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Robert - Just amazing! I would guess that it would be tough to assemble 50% of this set in PSA 10 based on the population, other 84' set collectors tying up the cards and the onslaught of the team collectors who might bid high for available 10's from the set. The centering issues alone certainly seem to make that second… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Arny, In the past I have been involved in a few sets where 4 or 5 collectors privately agree, submit adjustments to PSA and all sign off their approval of said submission. Under this type of coersion PSA can't help but consider such an effort. It seems that their are enough important active members of the 84' Donruss set… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Hey 84 Donruss brothers! Yes, unfortunately times are tough and I had to sell my baby The complete Master/Basic set was sold. I got a very nice return on my investment, but I can't discuss any details as the transaction was asked to be kept private. I still have my "Extras" set and I'll make a full list of what I have… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Yeah... it's been like forever, and I'm sure it seems like longer to you I finally got my 12 '84 D rack packs last week. Was going to fo a live rip but ended up just opening them due to lack of time. I will post some scans later tonight, but overall, I was not thrilled with the results, but not too disappointed either. I…
