Re: FINAL UPDATE: The buyer of my set filed a dispute with Paypal-- Received the return today
Good luck. I had an unopened box of 1/4 Plat proofs up on eBay two months ago and pulled it for fear of this very senario. How could I prove what was in the box when even I hadn't opened it? It was worth about 3k and I was not going to eat that kind of money if a scammer targeted me. Keep us updated. It's a tough one. -
Re: So I get this message today from an unhappy ebay buyer......2/20/11 Update 1st post

<< <i>I'd guess that the buyer is an absolute scammer and not really as uneducated as some would like to believe. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in. So since we're in the real world and not fantasy land all I can say is this m rs BLOCKED... Actually, maybe he's really unhappy with his last purchase: A Mens… -
Re: '52 Mantle Authenticity Opinion

<< <i> << <i>The heck with the Mantle. How much does he want for the Matthews? >> Check out the 2 Pafko cards as well. One is in bad shape, but the other looks nice >> The "beater" could be genuine which is an old scammer trick to mix in genuine commons or key card beaters in a lot with high grade key card reprints, to… -
Re: PCGS, NGC Coin Grading Scam Alert (on CMI gold and silver site)
CMI is welcome to their opinion, and this guy clearly has one. But to write it up in the documentary tone he has makes it clear he is trying to sway the newbies into avoiding that slabbed stuff and just buying beat up bullion coins from him. He's doing just what he accuses the scammers of doin. This article condemns his… -
Re: Ok, honest opinion time...
You have one negative feedback in one year but your rating is 97.5% which is lower than most outright scammers! Honestly I'd start over with new site since that's not fair. Then, auction the coins at some small minimum starter price and charge what the regular successful sellers do who post on the forums for mailing. In… -
Re: Papa Tony has a shiny collection
Right on DRG! Only a scumbag would leave a neg after getting a nuetral. I say, fork Papatony and the horse he rode in on! I shy away from any auction using that type of subterfudge (."..not my coins, but old Tony's...) or (" I don't know anything about coins, but I inherited these from my dear old Dad...") . 99% of the… -

Re: Ruth contract -- Dumbest scam I've ever seen
Some of the buyer's former sellers are NARU, so at least he's used to getting scammed. Who knows, maybe he deliberately "buys" fake items to get info on the scammer. As for that Goudey Ruth he bought, it's trimmed but it might at least be a real Goudey. Why anyone would trim a respectable EX or even VG-EX Ruth to send it… -
Re: Check out this deadbeat Ebay seller! Caught in the act!
Good luck with getting ebay to remove the feedback. I have had a similar problem and the guy negged me back on a 1k deal and then had the marbles to call me a scammer. I sent ebay proof of everything and they said "SORRY, WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING!!!" Of course not, if they had to deal with all the scum on ebay, they would… -
Re: Dealer crack out game Ebay misrepresentation
<< <i> << <i>Just one more reason to, let's say it all together, "Don't buy raw coins on eBay" >> >> There are plenty of good raw coins if the person selling is somewhat honest. I have had fairly good luck at picking out reputable sellers from scammers. My motto is always make sure the seller has a return policy!
