Re: With the new eBay fees coming, is an eBay store right for you?
There will prolly always be some value to having stores in the world's largest outlet mall. When "stores in search" was tried - off and on - in 2004/05, it made EBAY a goldmine for small sellers. During some of those times, there were only 8M to 11M listings on the entire site. As we approach 50M listings - on the way to… -
Re: 1960's proof sets
@jmlanzaf i am a firm believer that mint sets were not generally sealed and the proof sets were. (For the most part). When this subject comes up the consensus of the forum is that neither were sealed (for the most part). I remember at the coin club meeting the old timers, probably younger than I am now. Saying leave them… -

<< <i>The Blue jays can't hit, ok I'll buy that. Then maybe you can explain how the Angels won the most games in Baseball and they can't hit either? The Blue Jays came in 11th in hitting and 1st in Pitching the Angels 3rd and 10th. That is right 10th in hitting just above the Blue Jays that can't hit. >> Man, you complain… -
Re: Much ado about nothing
The circling of the wagons of toned coin collectors and dealers, and the denial is so strong it amazes me. The steady stream of AT coins showing up in the marketplace holdered and raw doesn't seem to phase them. Of course several of these folks in the wagons have a huge investment, and a huge ax to grind, so I weigh their… -
Re: The Order of the Teutonic Knights
Think about it from a statistical perspective. I imagine that you have literally seen tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of pieces in your collecting career. In that time, you have learned to internalize the grading means for different pieces, series, and time periods. You know what makes a AU50 different from… -

Re: 1930 British Crown-Mintage 4,487 coins
<< <i>Not trying to throw salt in the wound, but is that PVC at 2:00 on the obverse and between the elements of the left fleur inside the crown on the reverse? Several other spots seem to be more advanced PVC damage as well. Even if it's not, just the fear that it may be might keep some buyers from wanting it. If it were… -
Re: Fake PCGS Slabs from China, most dangerous ever seen
