Another scammer on e bay.Well...from these boards I've learned that you dont buy uncertified gold on e bay.From personal observation,I have been reluctant to buy any expensive coins from another country.There is little or no protection when you order from anywhere other than the USA.Just MHO -

Actually its refreshing to see someone with trust. People on these boards routinely trust each other and send cards w/o payment. With all the scammers on ebay...we do not expect that here. An old saying...you never get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression. So rethink your posting Curlybill -

14. "I can't take PayPal anymore because they ripped me off before." Actually taking Paypal is usually a sign it could be a scam, if other things point to it. Paypal provides a quick out and the scammer can hide behind a fake name and address. and be long gone before Paypal catches up to them. -

I, for one, would love to purchase a '52 Mantle, but unfortunately scammers have made it so scary to even think about it. Has anyone ever purchased a raw '52 Mantle? If so, how did you do with the grade? A better question might be, does anyone on the boards own a '52 Mantle? Mark -

I had the same thing happen on a circ 1950 D nickel. I refunded the guys money after 30 days and forgot about it. 3 months later he called to tell me the coin just arrived and wanted to pay for it. For the small amount of money involved, I doubt if your buyer is a scammer. -

These second chance scammers are a real problem, RYK. Unfortunately, I still receive emails from bidders, asking if they are legit. That tells me that some are falling for them, and losing real money. My advice to buyers, unless one is absolutely certain of who you are dealing with, always pay with a credit card, through… -

Welcome to the forum! :) "that shows up on the scammers review website." This should be enough for you to avoid them! I did a quick search and didn't find much other than a couple of ebay listings and one of those listings was removed by ebay. When ebay removes a listing that is not a good sign. Why buy questionable… -

Seems like more reason to sell on the boards. About 85% of my purchases the last 6 months have been from boards or through email from people I have bought from in the past (most originally from the boards). Scammers can of course be here but it should be pretty easy to get some folks here to vouch. -

I still have to sign for packages when I pick up at PO box, but I had sent one with quite a bit of stuff in it delivered yesterday and signature name was recorded as C Covid. Thankfully , I know the recipient and we do a lot of business, but i can see where this could be a problem with a scammer or other buyer
