Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Thanks for all of the support guys! I do have a few initial questions. 1. Do any of you have an excel spreadsheet I could use to organize my '84 set. I can always make one (like I did for my '60 set), but I thought if someone had it they could just send it my way. My email addy is just my user name here at yahoo.com. 2. In… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Thanks Ray, I've been keeping any eye on your registry "for Trade" sent....will let everyone know how I do when my submission returns. I have sent a few more hockey in also from 75. I don't collect them either but couldn't pass up the deal and have gotten lucky on them so far. Anyone working on any football that are also… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
By the way; when all my dust clears and I get in all these submissions, I am likely to have some more duplicate 8's, 9's, and 10's listed in my "Fair Trade Winds" set. Anything there is available for trade or sale. If interested, just PM or email at aja4rayb@msn.com. Ray RVC - Thanks for the kind words. Your set is one to… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Nearly all of the ones that I sent in are PSA 10s in my book. That is, aside from the Youngbloods, Horners & M.Wilcox cards that I'm hoping will pull at least 9s for me. The last time that I sent in '84 Donruss cards, I ended up with an average of a 9. Dravecky DK Steele was an 8, Ron Guidry 10 and the rest were all 9s. I… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Don't know if anyone saw this, but I just happened across it earlier today. Had a starting bid of $400 and actually didn't have any bids at all until a few hours before it ended, then ended up going for $471. Not sure why someone would start an item like this at $400. You know it's going to eclipse that amount no matter… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Hello '84 Donnies, I have browsed your thread and find it very interesting and it conjured up a question in my head. If you bought an unopened box of mid eighties cards, opened up one hundred cards, put everyone into a penny sleeve and card saver, submitted them the very next day to PSA. What would you expect to get back… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Great hits Arny.....glad to see this thread rise to the top once again....it was starting to get buried.....wish I could join you all with some recent additions but with tax time, Browns season ticket invoice arriving and my niece's wedding the money has been tight her recently. Maybe when I get my income tax check I can… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Thanks to Sagard, and ArnyVee for your prompt responses to my question re: Basic vs. Master. I put two sets together back in '84. If there was info. available on the Diamond King variations, I was unaware. I do remember the Darling without the number on the back. All of my Diamond Kings are printed STEEL, so therefore all… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Funny and very cool at the same time.... I won a PSA 10 Fred Lynn DK #17 for dirt a week or so ago. The scan, and I believe also the write up, called this one out as Steel variation. The PSA flip says DK- Steel, but lo and behold the actual card reads Steele! If PSA ID's most of these correctly then based on their POP… -
Re: 1984 Donruss Baseball - the unofficial but legal thread
Darin, Welcome! Glad you've been following the thread and hopefully your name will be 'in lights' on the registry soon. Centering is always a bear: In fact, the raw set that got me started in this whole registry game came from 2 wax CASES back in '84. The best centered of those 2 cases (21,600 cards) would account roughly…
