Re: The moon must be full over Europe today!
True enough. But in examples like the one I posted a link to, one has to be wary of eBay questions now, too. The phishers are getting very crafty. It's not a question of xenophobia or fear of foreigners so much as it is a fear of scammers in general. If a person with zero feedback, in other words, a total unknown, wanted… -

Re: Is this precious metals site legit?
<< <i> << <i>Yes thank you RawTeam1. Majority of items sold are shipped to us after you order. We have no control of suppliers therefore we need enough time to fill the order. we reserve the right to cancel orders and do not extend that right to our clients. I know it seems one sided but we have had issue with order… -
Re: 4SC and Pop Report
With all the scammers, wrong doers, resealers, forgeries, and all the other BS that we have to filter thru to be collectors, 4SC is not a problem. They are a solution as far as having very competitive prices, especially for set builders. Because they have chosen to handle this situation in a way that makes most sense to… -
Re: CAUTION- 52 Mantle on eBay
<< <i> << <i>Another guy that I didn't previously know contacted me when he realized it was a scan of my stolen card. He already sent the guy $10,000 for an off ebay deal and the seller didn't pull the card down Jeff >> When the seller so quickly accepted 10K on a card with probably twice that, how does that not trigger… -
Re: I'm about to sell a coin on eBay to a new member for $2650. If he pays via PayPal, can he scam me?
USPS protection against theft or loss no longer applies once it is signed for at the shipping address. If stolen or lost after that point it is not a USPS matter. This basic rule applies to any kind of shipment. Another method a scammer can use is to have an item forwarded. Since tracking will show that delivery was made… -
Re: Buyer from outside the USA with unconfirmed address

I quit reading the thread about halfway through, but while I'm sure there are plenty of legit collectors outside of the US and plenty of bad seeds within the US, I have my eBay account set up to where I'm not accepting any bids from outside the US. I don't sell enough on eBay and I'm just not willing to figure out how to… -
Re: Was I too tough on this ebayer?
<< <i> << <i>you should also block the bidder, IMO. My experience tells me that if the bidder wins, when he/she finds a micron sized speck on the coin or the holder, you are looking at a return. Those questions often lead to dissatisfied sellers. >> And, I might add, I am surprised at Barndog's response to your thread.… -
Re: Life after PayPal
In addition to the fees Paypal charges (which isn't really an issue IMO, I can file that under the cost of doing business), the most troubling possibility for many sellers is the potential for fraud via a chargeback from the buyer. All it takes is one dishonest buyer to screw you on a thousand dollar item and you will… -
Re: Fraud Recovery - What Can I Do?
My friend just got took for close to $1000. PayPal said they can only help up to $200 of the purchase. He banks with Wells Fargo and lucky has buyers protection and Wells Fargo has put a reversal towards PayPal for the transaction. I hope he gets his money back. Then PayPal will have to try to get the money back from the…
