Re: 1964-D Peace Dollar
<< <i>But then some Congress scammer got a deal for one of their friends to have the gift shop run by the independent (private) contractor. It was moved outside the main Mint building, the museum was removed, and the resulting shop has nothing but the cheapest junk trinkets. >> The fact it's run by a private contractor is… -
Re: Ever hear of a "RARE BLUE DATE" proof set?
First the seller come up with a plausible story, but has no proof or reference to back it up. Then he goes on to tell how the buyer of the other set hit the jackpot, thus implying that you will also. In the eBay write-up he states how he will probably never be able to find another, meaning this may be your last chance to… -
Re: Not Good
If they ever send it in for a re-holder they are gonna be in for a rude awakening. The card is fake. The flip must be printed out and glued to original back. I’ve bought one before. Psa keeps the slab and label and sends back the card. The seller has old psa slabs somehow and a welding machine. No frost anywhere. It would… -
Re: Wow, 4 cents off MSRP!
Based on BBCE's assessment, this appears it could end up back on the market by someone else with a simple NM-MT pack swap( i.e., add 1 bird pack, subtract 1 english to get correct sticker distribution expected). If it is then sent to BBCE as a fresh box, it possibly could obtain a non-frankenstein assessment. This would… -
Re: Don't understand Ebay!
Originally posted by: mgrosman Are there any on there that are legitimate that anyone's bought from recently? They are out there but few and far between. Re: Fraud Alert- Sacagawea Dollar on a Cent Planchet PCGS MS-66
<< <i>I just realized where the photos came from: I bought the coin on Ebay, already slabbed by PCGS, in the spring. His photos have to have come from the original eBay listing. I know of at least three bidders who have removed their bids, so whatever it closes for will NOT be the market for the coin. >> Thanks Fred. That… -
Re: ANyone ever had this problem with Paypal and delivery confirmation?
<< <i>Remember...the guy delivering your package doesn't care about you, your purchase, and most likely his job... >> It's a nice fun easy job that pays decent. Most of us care. Some don't. You can find good and bad people working anywhere, from doctors and lawyers to garbage collectors and street sweepers. They're all… -
Re: How should I resond to this ebay seller....
I might be a devil's advocate here but as long as you get the cards is it really worth giving him a neg and then possibly getting a retalitory neg back? Assuming you get the cards I would just give him a soft positive and move on with life. He's a scammer, he's scum, he's circumventing postal rules, yadda, yadda, yadda...… -
Re: Would you consider this coin third party graded?
That's one ugly nickel. How that was ever MS anything from NGC is a mystery to me. I guess if there isn't friction breaking the luster it has to be MS, but the thing looks like there are hardly any details in the hair (poorly struck) and the photo looks lifeless. Maybe lighting, maybe no luster from dipping. gack. I've… -
Re: Warning to all: Most sophisticated eBay scam yet?
I don't understand why eBay lets anyone other than the buyers send emails to sellers after an auction is completed. It sure took eBay long enough to pull the scammers link. I emailed eBay within 5 mins. of getting it. I can only imagine how many people got sucked into it. BTW I rec'd no official response back from eBay…
