Re: What could happen in 2024, that didn't happen in 2023, that would push silver to $30+

This is an interesting graph, but correlation is not always indicative of causation. The multi-decade downdraft in 10-year rates that popped with inflation the past couple years could generate a false signal with this ratio for a while longer. Not convinced that inflation is going away with massive borrowing in the works… -

Re: My apologies to the entire forum - and a picture of my OTHER 1922
<< <i> << <i> << <i>I fully agree that the OP owes nobody any apologies! However, im not certain that anyone from that thread owes any apologies either. The coin was listed in a free and public forum. The BST allows members to post to any and all threads there, it does not just allow the OP to post. Therefore, I still view… -

Re: Abby's GACC September 2024 Show Report
Honestly, given how the show over promised and under delivered, if it was me I'd be asking for a 100% credit toward a future show. Otherwise, again if it was me, the money I paid for this show would be the last money Larry would ever see from me. Paying full price for a World table and being thrown in the back with the… -
Re: ARE FOREIGNERS GOING TO EVENTUALLY PRICE AMERICANS OUT OF THEIR OWN UNITED STATES COIN HOBBY? YOUR T
It has happened in the Australian stamp market when the A$ fell to new lows against the US$ and other currencies. Many foreigners were able to buy up scare and rare Australian stamps at what were perceived as 'cheap' prices. Australians were not able to match the high prices and many stamps went overseas. Now that the A$… -
Three certificate strip of Cheerios COA's, one with a dollar coin, two without, sells on eBay

This three-piece strip just closed on eBay at $4650. As far as I can tell the dollar in the strip did not have the die marker on the obverse. Just wanted to show posterity how the dollar coins were distributed at random into cereal boxes. A long strip with mostly just cents would occasionally have a dollar and a cent in… -
Re: Yuan devalued
Beijing was forced to act because the continuously surging dollar had been bringing the yuan along for an unwanted ride upward "By decoupling from the dollar now, China is sending a message that it may be prepared to let it fall later. This means that when the dollar starts to fall in earnest, China may not be there to… -
Re: EBAY's new policy - The customer (in this case the buyer) is always right
<< <i>I agree, I just think these new rules will make this situation a lot uglier. I hope I am wrong. >> It could play out in different ways. On one hand, it seems to give the buyer way too much of the leverage. On the other hand, the playing field should be level for all sellers (at least after a certain date). So if negs… -
Re: Two coins from the Portland, Oregon PNNA Show.

Ken, The Willamette Coin Club has had a show for many years in the Spring. All we did was move the same show to the Fall - we thought it would be better for Northwest collectors if the WCC show was not always so close to the Spring PNNA show in Tukwila. So, I guess whether it's a "first time" show is a matter of semantics.…
