Do you think this is the beginning of a new type of market?
I've been discussing this with some bullion friends and out of that discussion came a conclusion. This is the beginning of a new kind of market. Still Paper vs. Physical but different in the sense that Physical, and when I say physical I even mean your typical run of the mill bullion...your Merry Christmas bars and such,… -

Re: 800 gold coins found Kentucky cornfield
WOW !!! . . Perhaps it was one of these Most People Don’t Know These 11 Treasures Are Hiding In Kentucky Back in Kentucky’s days of old, many people either did not trust the banks, or did not have access to one. In cases such as this, wise Kentuckians would often bury their treasure hordes in spots they deemed safe. In… -
Re: Real or counterfeit seated dollars?
having questioned those two dollars you are miles ahead of the idiots bidding on them. the fakes are relatively easy to spot, most have date digits that look like they were formed with clay, strikes worse than the mint could do if they tried, and lets not forget the fantasy date/mintmark combinations. ive seen 1847-cc… -
Re: Silver and gold are off to the races today
The ATB's were the gift of 2010-2011 from the AP's via the Mint, pitboss. I too am happy to stock up for the impending rise in silver, regardless of future numismatic value. I was looking over some silver round rolls to finance *another* ATB Set and may find it difficult to pull the silver-sell trigger. I may be a bit more… -
Re: large companies check for counterfeits?
Yep, I can't even remember the amount of times where I sold gold and silver to a dealer and they just took a quick glance and dropped it right in the for sale case. No loupe, no weight or dimension check, no xrf, no squat. Always the "I've been doing this for 50 years and I could spot a fake 10 miles away" types. Scary to… -
Re: Good news for owners of the UHR
<< <i>Anyone know what the increase in gold price is since March 2009 to compare to Wondercoin's 25% increase in UHR value?... e.g. how much is the price spot driven? >> Well, MCM has seen it's raw pricing rice significantly in the last month - now $2599 and ebay prices have also risen, accordingly. It appears driven… -
Re: Olive Oil to the rescue, extra virgin, of course...........................
Mineral oil (the clear odorless kind) works better than olive oil. Olive oil can and will turn rancid. It can and will make copper coins darker. Mineral oil is more gentle. Mineral oil works best on copper coins. It can also remove light milky spots and streaking on silver coins as well. Best to use mineral oil in business… -
Re: Question about Legend's latest market report
Interesting that Legend doesn't like “dirty” gold. Which would make sense for say the $20 1907 High Relief PCGS CAC Wire Edge MS66-67 they are looking for....such as no copper spots or unsightly crust that takes away from the flash. But on their want list they also have a $10 1795 PCGS AU55-58 PCGS CAC and ALL BETTER GOLD-…
