"I don't know much about cards" is always the first clue of a scammer. "Bought at an auction/yard sale"? Card in question sold in MileHigh auction in May 2004 for over $16k and he got it at a yard sale? Yeah I believe that. -

The "rookie card" designation
Why is topps placing this on cards that we know are not the "rookie cards" of players...this is confusing and will help scammers sell cards that are not rookie cards AS rookie cards...any thoughts on why topps is doing this? Is it required? when will it finally truely mean RC? A confused Loth -

I have used item descriptions to make similar statements about the tactics of other ebay sellers. What's funny, and yet disturbing at the same time, are the morons who wrote him that don't get it. They think they have found one of the scammers and called him out. -

If it is the Canada guy, ask him if he has a BGS Jordan to trade and see if he offers the 9.5. I think it is the California scammers anyway, but thought it might be an interesting idea to get him to show the BGS 9.5 Jordan for a picture record for the other poster to pursue. -

I believe it. So many people have complained, for a LONG time now, that this makes sense. While it affects trustworthy sellers, it is likely directed at some of the scammers and lower lifeform sellers. I'm fine with it as I do it anyway and I appreciate seeing the full pic.
