Re: Thoughts for improving PCGS VAM program - what are yours?
<< <i>Lobby for changes. I for one can say that due to some homework I did on my part I was able to have PCGS change some registry set weights on some of the Top 50 Peace $'s. The registry set is something set up for US to use. The more people insist on changes, the more you'll see PCGS accomidate.... >> This is good news.… -
Re: registry set question (about new sets)
No doubt if you do the work they will get the set pushed through in no time. I've requested and had listed 6 sets so far. The longest wait was 6-8 weeks from request to posting on the registry. If you do something like the 500 HR club, make sure you select a Rookie (if you are going that way) to be included for each player… -
Re: Set Registry Spreadsheets - Updated
Paul, I've added the '57 & '58 Topps Football sets to my site: Set Registry Spreadsheets I did use your sets to check both and the calculations are correct. With the '57 set, you need to remember that you have a PSA 8OC checklist that has a weight of "10". For calculations, PSA counts this as a 6. You have 5 PSA 9s with a… -
Re: Set Weighting Proposal
I believe the true value of the registry concept lies not necessarily in the competition to be number one, but rather in the "board effect". The board effect is the re-creation of the circumstances that caused the first big boom in coin collecting - the feedback that a partially filled penny board gives to you as you… -

Re: New Message to PSA Set Registry Members from BJ and Joe
Bravo! One of my major complaints about the registry has been lack on consistency for player sets. They addressed the LL card issue, but what about Tiffanies? They are in some sets and not in others. And for my Marcus Allen set, they inexplicably failed to include the base 1990 Pro Set, but added in the 1990 Pro Set Super… -
Re: Why No Love for 1967 Joe Morgan in Set Registry
Lots of the cards in the registry are way off as far as weights go. A perfect example is OPC cards from the 1960's. MUCH harder to find than the Topps cards but many are weighted the exact same. I was once told that the number of submissions effected the weight, as the more valuable cards got submitted more often. My… -
Re: New registry point system penalizes DMPL vs PL
Goldminers: The MS70DMPL Kennedy Half Dollars (Enhanced) 2014-S get NO additional weight as compared to a 2014-S Enhanced without even PL. Set registry told me that when there are (3) choices of coins for a slot they all get equal weight (or something like that)? Is the treatment of the 2014-S Kennedy PCGS-MS70DMPL in the… -
Weighting question for BJ or ??
When pulling up some registry sets (alltime/current) there is a note comment saying "note: this set is weighted". i.e the 50pc commem set has this note..when pulling up the view set composition section it actually does weight the set this is great...but... pcgs appears to have not applied the weighting..will this happen…
