@Vicky247, look at the photos of the coins you showed above. Proof coins have reflective, mirrored fields. Mint state (MS) coins lack mirrored fields but show luster, that coruscating flash of light one sees when one rocks an uncirculated coin tilted towards a light source. A full 2 page ad in the local newspapers running on certain weekends tells you all you need to know about how much scammers like hotel buyers fleece off the uninformed public. -

You can appeal the case with PayPal, but you probably will still lose. Looking at it from the seller's point of view, their position is understandable. The item shows delivered, and they have no way of knowing that you're not a scammer. Russ, NCNE -

I don't collect that stuff, can't afford it, but I've seen them for sale for around $3500. As always be careful and wary. Too many scams and scammers. There's so many fakes out there, even with LOA or whatever. -

Wasn't there a scammer on ebay a few months back selling copies as genuine that lived in Springfield Ohio? I seem to remember them being turned in to thier local police and then was arrested and thier ebay account NARU'd. -

Well, I think somehow these scammers likely find out about a thread such as this, and it scares the chit out of 'em, and that's a good thing. BTW, phenomenal job finding the auction of the "real" card - outstanding detective work! -

Attractively toned coins will always be in demand. Paying insane, stupid money for toned coins is a bubble that is bound to burst, though. The scammers, coin cookers, and hype artists will see to that. Then they'll find a new fad to follow.
