Cincinnati Numsimatic Association (CNA) Coin Show report
I attended the Cincinnati Numismatic Association show this year and I have to say it seemed like an incredible success and strong improvement from last year (it just keeps growing!). I was able to squeeze in a rushed 60-75min sprint session on Friday and another 3 hour session at more leisure pacing Saturday with my son.… -
Just heard of the passing of Bob Bruce, of All American Coin Co. & a Forum member
I just found out tonight that Bob died in Florida on July 13. He and I have been friends since 1999 and he was helpful in getting my interest in coins rekindled. I worked with him at a few shows in Pittsburgh over the years, and when he moved to Florida we stayed in touch. He really wanted to come up to the ANA this fall… -
Re: Best of the Mint 1916 Mercury Dime Gold Coin and Silver Medal Set
Yes. Because, historically, Dan Carr pieces have been made in the dozens and hundreds, as opposed to the many thousands that were recently sold on TV at relatively high prices. To be fair. I happen to LOVE Dan Carr stuff, and love watching the TV pitchmen BS their way through presentations. I actually use it to fall asleep… -
Re: Vince Lombardi Find
True story: My brother is a big estate sale guy and about 10 years ago did one and bought a box of kitchen stuff for $5 because there was something in there his wife wanted. Got it all home, went through it and there was $16K in cash in a cookie tin. On the other hand last fall we had to clean out my inlaws house (both had… -
Re: Ripped off by someone at the Post Office - or - Scammed by Ebay Seller
You paid for item. You expect to receive item. You did not receive item. You file Paypal not reveived claim. You get money back. Simple. Insurance is for sellers, not buyers, do not fall for the " you did not buy insurance" SCAM. Seller chose to ship without insurance. Insurance is for sellers, forcing buyers to BELIEVE… -
Re: The Official 2025-2026 NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread
The mental impact of the game 1 4th quarter collapse by Cleveland cannot be understated. The only way Cleveland could have overcome that impact would have been to rally in the second half of game 2 to come back from a double digit Knicks lead to win the game. Cleveland cut the Knicks lead to 7 points but could not get any… -
Re: Guess The Grade: 1943-D Wheat Cent & Did PCGS Cause this? - REVEALED In Comments

I respectfully disagree. I assume you're splitting hairs by saying "high end" coins and "low end" coins because that generally refers to price points. I assume you're not distinguishing someone sending in a bunch of low-end MS66s which are by definition better than a high end MS65. In all practicality, I don't think coins… -
Re: Your Coin Collecting Sponsor

Everyone: I would like to thank everyone that posted to this thread so far. I really enjoy hearing about how each of us was seduced by the dark side. The posts have been great and I can say that I really think remembering how we all fell in love can remind us to help others fall in love too. If you know a kid who might be… -
Re: Pete Rose - Do you think he will ever be in the hall of fame? *POLL*
ajw, Your point is very well taken. However, gambling has proliferated tremendously lately. It is not the taboo it once was. I understand a rule is a rule, and maybe Rose knew it carried a lifetime ban and he felt he could beat it and is still trying to. The fact that he gambled on baseball although he never bet his own…
