Re: I got ripped!!!

<< <i>I bought them at my shop and had no idea they were counterfeitable. Bought them from a walk in woman with her son (about 12 years old my guess) She said he got them from his grandmother when she passed away. I had no inkling at all that they would be fake. >> Based on what I've heard, I'm just guessing that the lady… -
Re: Repatched Sidney Crosby Cup RPA on ebay UPDATE: Possible Brady too
This is absolutely happening in all sports. It is bad because the fakers have generally gotten pretty good with this stuff. My understanding is that the better fakers have gotten good enough that some are actually able take the card apart into two pieces now to remove the old patch and replace it with a new one. Then they… -
Re: Why do people consign coins to auction houses?
Who can afford to consign coins????? I agree with most of what you posted. But as I get older and desire to spend my time on endeavors that I enjoy, I let others do some of the things I used to do. My time now has a higher value to me. So I can imagine that many people are more than happy to send coins off to an auction… -
Re: Nice wax
He's bought product from a variety of sources, so all packs may not be authentic, but I still believe at least most are. I do know he is not a resealer like the more notorious scammers on ebay, and a lot of his stuff is graded and from reputable sources, but again, as BWF alluded to as well, his BIN prices are way too… -

Re: Hiijacked again??? Four times in two months??? Why does this keep happening? Anyone else? Can I do a
So you are assuming Nam did it. Again it more than likely was not anyone from these boards or at least not an active member. For every poster there are probaly at least 5 lurkers on these boards. There are people on Ebay who do nothing but look for auctions to report. BUT... You were told by several posters here that it… -
Re: Authentic or Reproducation? - 1793 Chain Cent (Answer Revealed in 1st Post)

For what it's worth, that does look like an old school tooling job. Meticulous handwork like that is less common with today's breed of scammers. << <i>Nobody told them that the lettering wears before the chain. >> Maybe that's why the letters got extensively reworked, too? The tooling here is the wild card- it obscures any… -
Re: BABE RUTH CUT
Ahh yes, Chris Morales...connections with Coach's Corner (known scammers), fake qualifications (yes, he is a member of a forensics group but authenticating documents is NOT one of his expertise even though he claims it) and has also lied about his background, has also been known to be involved with other shady… -
Re: Update on 97 rolls of wheat backs, bank wrapped
<< <i>If she had NOT opened up the first couple of rolls, and left everything as OBW, how many here would believe that they were OBW???? >> I was thinkng the very same thing yesterday. If she had never posted here at all and just listed the rolls on eBay as OBWs or any of the individual coins as having come from an OBW… -
Re: Secondary Market 20th ASE prices.........
I think it is going to take some time for whats out there to absorbed by collectors. Those that did not flip already will need to wait this out or dump. There are a lot still sitting at the grading companies and will be coming on the market as well. With NGC lead times at 22 days (so they could take care of the TV scammers…
