Re: What should be done, if anything??
Well Al, You certainly seem to be hooked on the horns on an enema and you are faced with a couple of choices: 1) Eat the coin and chalk it up as "Lesson learned." You know you won't be able to sell it and live with the fact you knowingly cheated somebody. Perhaps crack it out and carry it as a pocket piece as a reminder.… -
Re: Best way to retrieve a large collection from across the country?
If the value is potentially there, and you can do the logistics (health, time, etc), I would fly, rent a car, and drive back. Hopefully with someone you can trust with you. Driving alone, for long periods, sucks, and you don't want to leave stuff in a vehicle overnight when you stop for a hotel rest. When my mom wanted to… -
Re: HOF Order numbers, time of order, and mix of HOF's thread...Updated Pops Report inside
<< <i>This free bag business is not good on our end. It's some bs move by the Mint to lock you in. >> I agree the bag sucks (I have 8 already BEFORE the HOF and pucks ship) but it does NOT lock you in. I returned 2 LEPS's (bag shipped separate) and they didn't send Federal agents to my house demanding the return of "The… -
Re: The Death Of Cash?
Greece sure ain't what it used to be. Imagine living in a country that peaked 2000 years ago and has pretty much gone downhill since then. Sorry Greece, but you suck. Except for the excellent ruins. And cool coastal towns and beaches, and nice joyful people, (for the most part) and Olives! And museums. And dates and… -
Re: Ouch, Ouch and OUCH!!! G.O.D. sighting!!
Eh, you win some, you lose some. If I was doing this to make a living and not just for fun, I would probably be stuck eating Raman noodles for a while but I won't lose any sleep over it. With all that has been going on in our little hobby recently, it seems many people are having the fun sucked out of what is supposed to… -
Re: 1991 Donruss Question
The Donruss Elites always sell when graded! But, man, nearly every raw one I've seen has its surface and corners suck all the way 'round the rectangle. Besides for a REAL challenge you guys should try looking for the VARIATION errors on the front. Blue everywhere. Good luck, and if you find the error Mcgwire which states… -
Re: Best Coin Investments
I'd agree that key dates are the best investment, if you are patient and can afford them. Coins have actually done much better over the last decade than the average mutual fund, and if you know your market, you can do quite nicely going forward. >> The recent economic problems make most traditional investments seem like a… -
Re: Advice to Dealers: Don't be these guys
Interesting post. Generally, I agree. If you're going to hold yourself out as an expert card dealer man by setting up a table, at least have the friggin' decency to know what your offer range is. Looking up a few cards is fine but if it's your livelihood you should know what stuff sells for. I had my entire National ruined… -

Re: Once upon a time, there was 'CU Secret Santa'
PLEASE be sure to include the classic "sent...does not suck"!! Sadly I only get SSDI/SNAP every month and I still got to finish paying down my credit card so I personally won't be able to join in...and why I haven't for years :( My favorite SS is that one year I drew a guy who wanted Mark McGwire cards and I drew…
