Re: Anyone else holding on to gold to sell after $3000?

I started selling about 1/4 of my gold at $2,750. I just sold 1/4 more between $2,800 and $2,900. As it is sitting around $2,950, I am waiting to sell, as the last half is more a long term hold to see what happens. There is going to be a short-term top sometime and I expect a 5-10% correction or consolidation phase maybe… -
Re: PCGS NGC CAC graders

Yeah, and they don’t find out by reading a book. Nor do graders themselves. And no, they don’t actually “know”. They all have opinions about what the “standards” are. Many collectors will have opinions that fall along similar lines, but many will not. As you can see in this very thread, it was put forward that an AU58… -
Re: Technology in Numismatics
Technology is not inherently good or bad. Technological innovations are morally neutral; how human beings apply the technology generates the moral issues. For me: Pros: - More access to coins to purchase, especially interstate/overseas. - More access to coin pictures, catalogues and other information to help identify,… -
Reasons for 2008 Boom and Bust?
Who here has a good (and of course infallible) memory? In 2008 metals exploded around St. Patricks Day, with $1000 gold and $21 silver. By Fall gold was down around $700, and silver around $9. What was happening in March to make it go crazy? I was laid up with my broken leg that month, and missed a lot of the fun. I know… -
FUN Observations
I wasn't at Winter FUN long enough to provide a full report but here a few FUN observations. As per the last few years, I fly in late Wednesday and fly back Friday mid-day, so I try to get a lot accomplished in a short period. (Sorry about formatting mess - I give up as I am only making it worse). * Weather. About a thirty… -
Re: NFL Game day: Who are you taking for Kansas City or Cincinnati?
.... The Bengals had their chances. They had two late drives end fruitless. Their O-Line has injuries and it cost them. Chiefs had a lot of injuries too. But as you said, the refs were ridiculous. Bengals fans have assembled videos and gifs to show what happened. I'm not linking any. But let me throw something out there… -
Re: Ebay question. Or pet peeve. Or maybe I'm the crazy one?
Part of the problem is that ebay doesn't do anything to non-paying bidders. :/ They want you to think they do but much like the rest of their customer service, it's all smoke & mirrors. I had a buyer purchase a coin, after a day of no pay the buyer contacted me asking for a few more days to pay, I said Okay. It started… -
Re: Is manning awesome or what ?
I'm a huge Packer fan, and Brett Favre and the Packers have been terrible in the playoffs the last five/six years. Did Favre somehow forget how to win? Can he no longer rise to the occasion? Or maybe because he has just had a few bad games in a row like anybody is capable given the chance that often. Or maybe because the… -
Re: stocks vs physical gold
What you are missing us that as interest rates went down the prices of those bonds went up. What investors did not get in income they got in capital gain. Advisors have been promoting dividend paying stocks also. If one only bought CDs then that's the risk they assumed by taking no risk. Which means that any maturing bonds…
