Re: Wild the best NHL team? LOL

Golly. Gone missing like every single sports team in Minnesota, like well, in all of human history. 1 single championship amongst 4 major professional teams and decades and decades of failure and mediocrity. And then there are the fall guys of the Big Ten, what are they named? The Go-phers? More like the lose it all of the… -
Re: Guess the grade of this 1936 walker
My reasoning on my guess of 64 - mainly it’s a very high end 64 but falls a little short of 65 (rt obv area). However it has super luster, eye appeal, and acquisition wise you did well - it’s CAC 64 MV $180. Had I seen it somewhere at that most likely would have bought it. It’s eye appeal superior to a lot of 65 pieces. A… -
Re: See how the really big boys manipulate the Metals market
<< <i>... Anyone care to speculate why a guy who chased money all his life left a job paying hundreds of millions to work for the US at 100K a year?? Please don't say he thought he had enough money already, those guys NEVER have enough. >> Power. It is the same reason Rockefellers went into politics, Kennedys too. Money… -
Re: 1965 Topps PSA 10 Perez Rookie back on Ebay
EYE APPEAL Excerpt:On the other hand, there are cards that technically fall within the printed PSA Grading Standards that may be prevented from reaching a particular, unqualified grade because the eye-appeal becomes an issue. The Importance of Eye-Appeal and Subjectivity in Grading Over the years, more and more collectors… -
Re: Over 100 degrees for the last hundred days...
@bgr @LandrysFedora There was very little snow falling today as with some rain... Nothing to get excited about...the weather here seemed cool & normal... Then around 6:30-ish 7-ish I went downstairs to put the TV on and went to warm a coffee in the microwave... There was no rain, no thunder, no lightning, I didn't hear any… -
Re: GreatCollections scraped off my CMQ sticker
Then what is the buyer's premium for? Purportedly the BP is to compensate the auction firm for services provided. If that's true, then they should not charge a BP because they are doing nothing for the buyer. They absolutely have duties to buyers after the hammer falls and a contract is established. Before the hammer falls… -
Re: Is Auction Collusion OK and just what constitutes auction collusion?
That last statement is unequivocally false. You’re assuming intent without any facts to prove it. In my earlier statement about reasonableness, the collector’s intent is to add a coin to their collection at any cost, not reduce the price. For the dealers it’s the opposite. They have to reduce the price to maximize profit… -
Re: The Barber Mega Thread - Part Two
Nice coins Mark and Mike Vern - thanks for posting the 99-S Quarter - you would think I have 2 of them in 62 looking at your photos vs. mine .. Lenny - Glad you made a U-Turn at the end of the plank - Welcome Back Mr. Kotter ! It is very difficult to quantify over rated vs. under rated when discussing varying grades from… -
Re: Hoping all of you are staying healthy and safe
they say this is hitting younger people hard but I think its just because they are doing a higher percentage of dumb things. Or are they just the same old dumb things and the media is piling on scapegoating them? Every day the news presents a flurry of nonsensical numbers with no context causing to panic people. There are… -
Re: What to do when you run out of copper.
<< <i>What to do when you run out of copper. My brother showed me an interesting experiment with a magnet and copper conduit. He had a round magnet and dropped it on the ground. He had me count. It took one second to drop five feet. He then inserted this magnet into a four foot piece of copper conduit, held the copper a…
