Re: Technology in Numismatics
Technology is not inherently good or bad. Technological innovations are morally neutral; how human beings apply the technology generates the moral issues. For me: Pros: - More access to coins to purchase, especially interstate/overseas. - More access to coin pictures, catalogues and other information to help identify,… -
Re: Cowboys
i've said this before and i'll say it again: does Jerry care about the product he sticks out on the field? sure he does, but only to an extent. one thing a lot of DC fans don't realize is, when the valuation of your NFL franchise looks up at no one and is $2.5 billion clear of the Rams who reside in the #2 spot.........and… -
Re: Anyone else holding on to gold to sell after $3000?

I started selling about 1/4 of my gold at $2,750. I just sold 1/4 more between $2,800 and $2,900. As it is sitting around $2,950, I am waiting to sell, as the last half is more a long term hold to see what happens. There is going to be a short-term top sometime and I expect a 5-10% correction or consolidation phase maybe… -
Re: PCGS NGC CAC graders

Yeah, and they don’t find out by reading a book. Nor do graders themselves. And no, they don’t actually “know”. They all have opinions about what the “standards” are. Many collectors will have opinions that fall along similar lines, but many will not. As you can see in this very thread, it was put forward that an AU58… -
Re: July gold and silver trading thread
Thanks for the link. The charts (in multiple time frames) are LOADED with energy from this extended consolidation. While it could go either direction, there's a lot more compelling argument for upside than downside. Additionally, the max downside (as I see it) of approx $880 is smaller in comparison to the upside, which I… -

Re: Big hit on silver
$3 is significant but in my opinion not a big deal. For a lot of people, the $50 mark was a psychological sell point. They also realized that a lot of other people might think the same way so some started selling at the 47-49 range. More sell orders than buy orders will cause the price to drop but I would not view a $3… -
** Fun Way To Show Collection

I have been taking more photos of my collection and I thought it would be fun to show pictures with a brief synopsis of each year. Similar to what you would find in an almanac. I collect primarily 30 key cards in baseball from 1956 to 1985. 1956 – Americans continue their love affair with “Ike” as Dwight Eisenhower cruises… -
Re: What could make this strong market for coins come to a grinding halt?
It can't happen until there are more sellers than buyers and short of an ecomnomic calamity that is very unlikely to happen soon. There is no obvious speculation going on in the hobby so a selling panic is improbable. This market wasn't built on precious metals prices so in the unlikely event that they fall it should have…
