The second coin is superior. The central obverse is significantly stronger. Compare the hair knots and areas just above them. That isn't a lighting discrepancy; the PCGS is simply hammered better. The milk spots (or whatever) in the reverse fields of the former ICG piece also detract slightly to my eye. -

Should I acetone this 1936 Proof Lincoln?

I recently bought a raw 1936 proof lincoln off ebay -- and I am wondering if I should acetone the coin before submitting it for grading. I have no idea if PCGS will grade this coin as is, or if it's already destined to be a "Genuine" coin. The reason I am thinking about acetoning this is the coin has some obvious… -

Well I tell ya right now the coin has not been whizzed. If it was then whom ever whizzed it was a surgeon because these lines stop right at the high points of the coin wit pinpoint accuracy. They do not cross the lettering, the portrait, the date, the feathers nada. As I said they run cris-cross under the high points. What… -
