Re: world type set...

Darkside is good, Lightside is bad, now-repeat after me, Darkside good, Lightside bad. Of course I mean that only in the friendliest way... Darkside=World coins, Lightside= US coins, Greyside=Canadian coins. World Type Set works as well as any other phrase. Your question is one many of us have asked since we joined this… -
Re: The official Philadelphia Eagles 2025 season thread
@stevek joking aside, your team is an enigma. remember what happened in '23? it reeks of that. let's break it down in a simplistic fashion: is Hurts a good QB? yes is Saquon a good RB? yes is DeVonta Smith a good WR? yes is A.J. Brown a good WR? yes is Goedert a good TE? yes good o-line? yes, ranked 5th by PFF going into… -
Re: HELP-Ebay Etiquette???
well 167.50 That Sucks , maybe that tells us how bad the economy really is. Ebay has become a mind field, (full of flea market idiots and lowballers that would offer 2 cents for a nickel to save u a trip to the bank.) I am sorry I am just fed up with watching items go under market value, but when I go to the grocery store… -
Re: buying junk in bulk
From the perspective of a potential customer at the flea market - Why would I sell my coins to you instead of a CoinStar machine? With the machine, I'd know I was getting some kind of fair value, but just by the pound, it could be way off. I'd then be inclined to only sell to you if I was sure I was getting a good deal… -

What percentage of collectors are "saps"?
If you have been collecting for any length of time you have probably run into collectors who consistently make bad buying decisions. These are the folks who buy their coins at flea markets, from low-end Sunday bourse dealers or from tv pitchmen. They often brag about what a great deal they got. More often than not they… -
Where did this stuff come from?
I have been cleaning my house this weekend, donated about 10,000 cards to goodwill, sold a bunch of sets from the 80's along with about 200 cassettes to a dealer at the local flea market, and I still have boxes and boxes of stuff. When I came back to Ohio after serving my country in the Navy for 10 years everything I had… -
Accused rare coin investment swindler living the good life in Bali
Wilbert Ho and Carol Comeau weren't pleased to learn that Barry Bellefontaine, a Honolulu investment adviser who took their money and skipped town nearly 12 years ago, is now selling luxury homes in Bali, Indonesia, and serving as president of the local tennis club. After Bellefontaine and his wife sailed off in a… -
Re: Trade off of technical attributes: what do you think of this 1935S Buffalo
The coin exhibits evidence of being reworked after a heavy die clash. The flea bitten look on the Indians neck is evidence of the clash. So is the area around E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the weak looking front neck close to the chin. Of course this does not affect technical grade, but should be noted as part of the coins… -
Re: Brick and Mortar coin shops, armed robbery, and you
<< <i>It is a sad when a business owner can not defend himself against criminals. Let's not forget this started because people with guns committed a crime and demonstrated their desire to harm others by pointing a gun at them. I agree with the earlier poster who said this man is a hero. I do not have a coin store but I do…
