Re: x
I see little hope or acceptance of an AI only grading program. I think the vast majority of collector will want a human finalizer. The current AI programs have one huge flaw. They are all dirivitive. They only build on something else. There is no original thinking. If even the smallest flaw, mistake or false fact gets… -
Re: Condition expectations as seen under 10X magnification
Quality lighting is all you need. Joe Orlando confirmed that PSA graders do not use magnification to assess condition for most cards. It's a mainly a tool to detect/inspect alterations. Magnification will conceal slight bends and other issues, which will affect a grade a lot more frequently than the type of corner… -
Re: Dare this devil's advocate ask - might THE Peace dollar be NT after all? The other side of the coin/

Hi Mark, You asked several different questions. Might the coin be Nt after all? Highly unlikely, given what we know now. Impossible no. But if you had a sealed envelope (not used for coin storage which contained God's answer to the NT/AT question, and you had to give a lilkelyhood that the coin was NT, given all the… -
Re: Platinum is entering the hyberbolic stage...where's the ETF?
So-called ETFs free investors from having to set up futures trading accounts or take physical delivery. But sponsors of such funds buy a matching amount of the commodity from the market to keep in bank vaults. That amount has doubled since the end of 2007, to 270,000 ounces this week. Analysts expect the global platinum… -
Re: Collecting just semi keys
I would define semi key dates as ones that are priced in the sixty dollar range in the grade I'm looking for which is EF. I would omit the 09 S, 09 S VDB, 14D, 24 D and 31 S. Semi key for me would include however the 14 S, 24 S, 31 D and 33 D. The earlier teen dates S and D mints are tough to find in nice EF grades.… -
Re: Post some Gold for the weekend.
And for the conservative theists who have made idiotic arguments that I haven't responded to-I will say this: The fact that an argument has gone unrefuted doesn't mean it is true or give it any merit. Too many stupid arguments have been made against me to respond to...it's called the "Gish Gallop," and this debating tactic… -
Re: Kobe case dropped. Anyone interested in Kobe/25 now?
"Kobe Bryant is an athlete. This means that he is a target. After virtually every NBA basketball game you will find women hovering around arena exits who are willing to throw themselves into bed with almost any athlete that walks out of that door. Some of these women just want another notch on their garter belt. Some of… -
Re: When will Platinum Eagles reappear?
I've never had a problem with coinhog, and his opinion on this is a reasonable one. You're basically playing roulette at this point. You doubled up once. You can take your profit now, or let it ride. You can call the decision wise or foolish depending on the result of the next spin of the wheel, but it's a gamble either… -
Re: Penn State Scandal
<< <i> << <i> << <i> Exactly..most parents including myself would. I missed it somewhere, but why didn't the mother in the 98 case continue to do that? and why in hell would the da's office and police not keep an eye on this POS? >> If these boys had low-functioning, single, black mothers (and it's starting to look that… -
Re: Here's My Idea To Handle the Dollar situation

This sounds much like the HDTV debate: for some time TV companies wouldn't release programs in HDTV because nobody would buy the sets, so what was the use? Nobody would buy HDTV sets because nobody was broadcasting any HDTV programming. Eventually TV companies were forced to telecast some HDTV programming and the empasse…
