Re: American Eagle 2025 One Ounce Palladium Reverse Proof Coin

The math IS important, but you're leaving out a crucial variable that makes any comparison to other series a false equivalency. During the height of a robust market, palladium left a horrible taste in the mouth of many stackers and collectors dipping their toes in the water. I find it unlikely that I'm one of the only kids… -
Re: 1888 Indian Head Damage in and around the 3rd 8. For discussion relative to PMD vs Mint Damage.
Yes. In short, everything you have posted is outside of the minting process. If you disagree with that, please summarize your earlier posts in a series of statements that can individually be judged as true or false. For example: * It is possible for a struck through item of that size to prevent the minting press from fully… -

Re: Heritage BP increasing to 22% 1/1/26 for US coins
So you are saying that you personally know every single bidder that does or has bid at Heritage, impressive. Dealers are like any group of people and will fall into a bell curve. Some are very smart, some are not very smart, and most fall somewhere in the middle. Also, the simple law of averages dictates that yes some of… -
Re: A valuable coin is missing.
There is a rule in law that states if someone states an untruth or a false claim you may then- at your discretion- deem all of their statements or claims as false. The OP states in his complaint of PCGS he had a submission of eight where "all were not labeled right" (ie: correctly) and all eight were incorrectly labeled as… -
Re: Cheated out of your Registry Award?
Yes, this did happen to me. I had been working on an 1883 proof set for about 7-8 years and was very happy to complete it last year: https://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/alltimeset/386267 The set is ranked #2 all-time but I know at least two of Hansen's coins (the Trade dollar and 3c nickel) are no longer in PCGS plastic.… -
November Coin Club and some neat finds
My coin club is down to about 20 folks that show up each month, 3 of us setup as dealers in the back, and we go through about 80 auction lots of member submitted coins. I usually cross off about 2/3 of them during viewing due to damage, cleaning, etc. Wishful thinking to see many BU, let alone UNC coins - most use coin… -
Re: What suggestion(s) do you have for your fellow collectors that might make their collecting more fun?
If you get burned, learn from the experience! It happens to everyone! Also do diligent research before you buy. Many coins are sold with signed inserts…and many being lured into the false sense that they are one of a kind…although the same signer may have signed only one insert of its kind, there may be 50-100-500 inserts… -
Re: Royals moving their fences in an average of about ten feet...take an old look at George Brett

Even Juan Pierre would hit a homerun every now and then lol. I always laughed seeing guys fall down trying to climb the hill to make a catch. but it was just so so dumb Pujols hitting the HR off Lidge to the train tracks in the NLCS is the one I remember the most in that time frame for that park. To this day I will still…
