Re: Registered mail
Ah, for PP/eBay, things are a bit different. You will still be made whole by the USPS if it was lost BUT if the recipient is a scammer and actually gets the package and files a claim via PP/eBay, then you will have to do some kind of legal action. Registered itself is fine. To make things less stressful the added, and… -
Re: Attempted Theft...1956 Mantle psa 9...on ebay...
Originally posted by: thebaseballcardkid When I click on the link, I don't even get "It's been closed, or taken down". Just "similar items". Is there a way to retrieve the listing? Id like to bookmark the seller. It probably won't do much good. Scammers hijack dormant ebay accounts. When the auctions get shut down, they… -
Re: The Buy, Sell, & Trade experience
If you think that someone is overcharging, dont buy it or make an offer. I have had positive experiences and have met and talked to many members. Sometimes when I had something up for sale, a member would just PM to say it was a nice item. There may be some outside scammers that visit the boards but I would say we are an… -
Re: Do you avoid ebay listings by sellers who can't spell?
In my opinion, many ebay scammers will intentionally misspell items and use silly language as a way to make a potential buyer believe that they could possibly be getting a big bargain from a seller who doesn't know what they are doing...when too often these ebay sellers actually know exactly what they are doing...and that… -
Re: FBI investigating Ebay auctions?
Not all the "lady fraudsters" are female. Some scammers think it helps lower their marks' suspicion levels. The FBI will not pursue fraud themselves unless the value is rather higher than this case -- usually in the six figures. We learned this on this forum several years ago while trying to get an eBay fraudster shut down… -
Re: Big time Ebay Scam WARNING...someone tried to hijack my auction with 2nd chance offers...
I have been getting second chance offers from different people for the same item – retarded scammers. My advice for eBay sellers is to add a few lines in every auction stating that YOU DO NOT MAKE SECOND CHANCE OFFERS AND THAT ANY OFFERS THAT THEY RECEIVE SHOULD BE REPORTED TO EBAY. That way you can protect your customers… -
Re: Anyone missing
Aside from resale value, because apparently some care, does anyone here care about having a COA? It's a just slip of paper. If a scammer can make fake coins good enough to fool a buyer they can acquire or fake a COA quite easily. I understand OGP adding value due to preservation and presentation value, but don't get the… -
Re: new ebay scam- be careful...
I got an e-mail tonight informing me that my account was suspended and to click on a link to "unsuspend" my account, lol! The e-mail was addressed to me as "Dear ebay user". My day is not complete if I don't get at least one bogus ebay or paypal e-mail. Sometimes I get 4-5 in a day. The scammers never stop. -
Re: Never ending thread
Pay it down if you are not under the conforming limit. Then lock in a low rate. It all depends on comparing interest expense to investment gain. And your own personal "do I sleep well at night" test... (sorry, long answer) So... Do you think this penny is more authentic looking BEFORE or AFTER (link) Extract from a chinese… -
Re: ATB Sets FOR SALE - Sealed in box

<< <i>I'll give you $900 for a set. And, since I have lots of references and you probably have none, I will send payment upon receipt of the set. >> what he is trying to say is you should post references so people can be sure they aren't dealing with a scammer. And turn on your private messaging function in your user…
