Re: The Days of Cheap Raw Moderns are Over.
“Yes, Ikes sell for $1.50.”…. “$50 profit on $1000 investment.” Would you separate them for a $500 profit per $1000 investment? If so, you might want to give grandpa a fairer price on his coins than face value as that’s what $1.50/coin means. Wondercoin P.S. I’ve purchased about 15,000 circulated Ikes in the past 6 or so… -
Re: New set idea. Topps 50 Greatest. Opinions wanted.
Boggs, Thanks for asking. Yes, with your help and others I am well on my way. The 52 Pafko, 52 Robinson, and 53 Mays are the big money cards that are currently slowing me down. I have 54-92 exept for 2 right now. The 90s cards have also been difficult for me to get, but simply due to the fact that I have very little raw… -
Re: Question about grading and a Mantle
I hate to think about what that Mantle looks like. I can't remember seeing a vintage early 60's Mantle in a cardshop for a $59 price like that in a long, long time. This cardshop I go to for supplies, and his card prices are "reasonable" for a cardshop, has a 62 Mantle right now, atrocious chipping and some scuffing,… -
Re: Does anyone have multiples of the same coin? Why?
A few years ago I got hung up on closed collared Bust Quarters, specifically, 1832. I amassed over eighty of them in grades VG 6 thru MS 64. I have since sold off all the MS coins, (save for the PCGS 64,) and all the AU 53's thru 58's. I am now down to about 50 to 60 most of which are VF30 to XF 45. Up and until last year… -
Re: 1965 Topps set update - now getting out of control
ZACH - You need 500 to complete the set, I need 300. There are so many cards offered on eBay that we can pick and choose, then add dealer inventory and then raw cards, I see no problems getting the cards. I personally do not even look at the pop's - if I need it and its in line of what I will pay, thats good enough for me.… -
Re: Magic Unlimited Registry
It has been a real pain to get 10's on the problem cards. On some cards I would get 10-15 or so know a lot of them will be over-graded by ebayers, but a few may have good enough centering or edges to get good grades. Occasionally a problem card is a border line 9-10 and you can get the 10 on it. Other pain in the neck… -
Re: I haven't seen a tread yet - what are your 2007 collecting goals?
My goals: 1. Continue the slow build of my '60 Topps baseball set in PSA 8. I'd really like to add either the Clemente or Yaz in PSA 8 this year (in '06 I got a killer Mantle). 2. Get over 90% complete on my '84 Donruss set in PSA 9 or better. Started this set a few months back and am already close to 50%. 3. Get over 50%… -
Re: eBay nutjob. Do you think this guy overreacted?
have you ever sold before on eBay? I might have considered sending pics until your last sentence - would you consider adding a BIN? geez, just be the highest bidder at the end if you want it - why make me pay more to eBay so someone can bid and drop the BIN? and maybe you another will both have a nuclear snipe The seller… -
Re: what else do you collect besides cards?
<< <i>1) Peanuts/Snoopy pennants from the 60's/70's 9have about 40) 2) Match worn soccer jerseys from those members of the US Men's National team who have played professionally in Europe (have about 30) The pride and joy of my non-card collection is the jersey worn by Pablo Mastroeni during the USA's famous 3-2 victory… -
Re: Non-sports dealers
Also, can anyone offer insight into the market for such cards in PSA 7 or better condition? I have checked SMR and the Pop Report, so I am looking more for predictions on how the non-sports cards will fair in the futre. What value might such cards retain should one choose to sell down the line? I recently had several sets…
