Re: The Death Of Cash?
Greece sure ain't what it used to be. Imagine living in a country that peaked 2000 years ago and has pretty much gone downhill since then. Sorry Greece, but you suck. Except for the excellent ruins. And cool coastal towns and beaches, and nice joyful people, (for the most part) and Olives! And museums. And dates and… -
Share an off-Market coin that you want to improve your set

Just as the title says what is a coin that is not available on the market, but you are waiting patiently to come back around or just wish was available for a set and why. I continue to struggle to find an upgrade for my William and Mary in my monarch set. It's been incredibly difficult to find in high grade and I am stuck… -
Re: Ouch, Ouch and OUCH!!! G.O.D. sighting!!
Eh, you win some, you lose some. If I was doing this to make a living and not just for fun, I would probably be stuck eating Raman noodles for a while but I won't lose any sleep over it. With all that has been going on in our little hobby recently, it seems many people are having the fun sucked out of what is supposed to… -
Re: 1991 Donruss Question
The Donruss Elites always sell when graded! But, man, nearly every raw one I've seen has its surface and corners suck all the way 'round the rectangle. Besides for a REAL challenge you guys should try looking for the VARIATION errors on the front. Blue everywhere. Good luck, and if you find the error Mcgwire which states… -

Re: Best Coin Investments
I'd agree that key dates are the best investment, if you are patient and can afford them. Coins have actually done much better over the last decade than the average mutual fund, and if you know your market, you can do quite nicely going forward. >> The recent economic problems make most traditional investments seem like a… -
Re: Advice to Dealers: Don't be these guys
Interesting post. Generally, I agree. If you're going to hold yourself out as an expert card dealer man by setting up a table, at least have the friggin' decency to know what your offer range is. Looking up a few cards is fine but if it's your livelihood you should know what stuff sells for. I had my entire National ruined… -

Re: FINALLY!!! SILVER!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS! See? I told you it would happen!!! I am a little surprised it wasn't a Merc, but not terribly surprised it was a Roosie. I do not keep my good luck charm, as you mentioned, 'cause it goes to whoever guessed closest. If Gary (Bentfork) guessed 1964 dime with no mintmark, he is still dang close and the… -
Re: 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth- Upgrade?
Link. Sweet card. Yes, PSA is notorious for not crossing, which is why many crack out & submit. However as you point out, you could then get hit with Evidence of Trimming/Miin Size issues which would SUCK. Why not leave it in the SGC holder? It presents great and SGC is very respected, esp in pre-war cards such as yours.…
