Re: Do these auctions seem to good to be true??
hello, since we are all convinced this is a scam 1.)what scammers do you know will not end auctions early? 2.)will not sell duplicate items offline? 3.)will not enter in transactions outside of ebay? 4.)sells junk cases along with good cases 5.)lists thousands of items in the same format with the same type of pictures and… -
Re: Will GAI authenticate just about anything? This is getting pathetic..

<< <i> << <i> I "won" the pic in a drawing at a local card show. . >> This is why I NEVER bid on autographed material at fundraising events (such as for my kids' schools). This upsets my wife to no end. "But has a certificate of authenticity!", to which I tell her that even the signature on the COA is probably not legit,… -
Re: Poor poor inherited coin collections from Coin Vault/HSN/ACTV/etc.
I agree that people ultimately are responsible for how they choose to spend their disposable income. I also agree that it's really easy to not terribly difficult to educate yourself about coins- the internet is wildly available these days, and the resources plentiful. However, just remember: these companies that rip people… -
Re: OT But an eBay Question Which I see a lot of.
Was insurance an option in this auction? In other words, did the buyer refuse the insurance, or did you just anticipate that Del Confirm would be sufficient and not offer it? I NEVER sell anything, NOR do I BUY anything, no matter how cheap, low cost, etc...I ALWAYS pay for insurance. Del Confirm just states that it got to… -

I agree that blocking potential scammers is a must and maybe if they ask stupid questions that expierience shows will leave to future problems is OK as well. But blocking people because they ask for a cheaper price on a best offer- really?? That sounds like a… -
Re: what are the common scams of ebay sellers?
A few that come to mind are: - Offering an expensive coin that the seller doesn't actually possess, usually stealing photos from some website. - Hijacking the account of another ebay seller with a good record, then using that account to offer items for sale that will never be delivered. - Building up a good feedback record… -
Re: Be careful!! - Bought as a reprint, and now being sold as authentic!
Ebay has no control over the fraud and all they can do is regulate the good guys. There is no reason to hide the bidders other than to keep the ebay lawsuits down from the scammers. I have a story like most of us here: A guy with like 4 or 5 feedback was selling some pretty rare and old autographs on what looked like old… -
Re: Buying from Sellers who DON'T take paypal....
I'm really not worried about the seller in the item I'm looking at THIS TIME. The seller has 3053 positives and 0 negatives (which is about the highest amount of positives I've ever seen without a neg). So if there was ever a time I would do it without paypal it might be this one. I realize some people just won't take… -
Re: Who's got the guts to numerically grade a raw coin?
K6AZ..... The dealer is/was also an attorney. Well known and respected. A very good friend at the time. He left coins and is now doing well in another field altogether. I won't divulge his name. Midwest. The incident is well known and actually sad. He was using the same grading we all used back then in 1979-81. But the…
