In some instances a numerical grade would probably work fine. In others it would almost certainly create a mess. I keep thinking back to that gold buffalo nickel. If I made the same cut on a common date buffalo nickel or gold piece, would it get a numerical grade? If not, then why? If the gold buffalo had 3 test cuts…
