I had a similar thing happen at Heritage. I won a coin for $977.50. The tax on that was $81.47, so my total was $1058.97. I emailed them and said (paraphrasing) "Tell ya what -- just up my bid to $1001. More money for you, less for me. It's a win-win." No can do, they replied. Bummer . -

Take a look at the current prices for various 1oz gold coins at Apmex right now. Keep in mind all of these coins have the exact same amount of gold in them. The numbers speak loudly. By using a composite of current and finished EBAY bids mixed with PCGS price list (a discount percentage +/- depending upon the coin) and current gold and silver prices one can FIGURE out what a specific coin MIGHT sell for at market. GOLD is going up check out all the GREEN up arrows on the later gold coins. I expect them… -
