Re: What Is It With American Collectors and the Two-Party System?
If collectors became too upset with the swings in the grading they might and should seek some for of a balance to solve the issue. I am uncertain if you could for the acceptance by either of the grading services, they do not even respect each other. (14 for 28 in crossovers confirms that) More interesting it goes beyond… -
Re: 1924-S Peace $1 Edited to Add Question
I guess thet didn't have a full return policy per my suggestion. It looks about Ef-40 and has sub-par "eye appeal" . Certified in that grade it might retail for $30 but raw it's less, and a good buy around $14 for an album in your "deal" IMO. My only concern re:return is the seller might have sent out the other coin… -
Re: Population report rarity versus actaul rarity?
The pop reports help to give a general population consensus, but are by no means an absolute to rarity or to demand. Some dates are slabbed more often due to elevated price and for the likelyhood of being counterfeited, (1909-S V.D.B. & 14-D) as two examples. Other dates have less demand or cost less and collectors feel… -
Re: Coin collectors: 2007 year in review.....
I got tired of the slabbing games, overdependence on plastic and excess clout the slabbers have on the hobby. I sold off my slabbed AU-58 type set, or what there was of it. I miss some of the coins, but I feel like I made the right call as I think about pursuing other interests, some of which may include slabbed coins, but… -

Re: When is Pack Grading Worth it?
<< <i>I am sending in a couple of '86 fleer basketball packs, so I'm looking at my other packs to see if there is anything else that should be graded. My thought is value. If I ever want to sell the packs quickly, I think I might get some pretty low offers if they are raw. For those that don't know, grading is $14 a pack.… -
Re: More ebay changes coming down the hill
Already made my decision as to the 14 ANACS / ICG coins I have: 5 will be blown out on the Bay immediately, low start which will at least cover ship cost. One is too cheap to justify slab cost, the others will bring at least BV. 8 will be pulled from ebay, expensive numismatic coins, cracked out and submitted to PCGS most…
