I question whether I would submit the 1880 CAL 1/2 dollar gold that had a hole and is now notched. You would end up paying shipping both ways (the going to PCGS shipment could be combined with the rest), the $10 handling fee and the special issues grading fee. I don't mind the whipsawing as long as I can make 5-10% a week during quick moves. I was in the right place Monday and Tuesday am but sold out on....the fear of being further whipsawed. In fact the same can happen to us (or you) on a "breakout" of gold above $1033. The price could just as easily whip saw right back to $990… -

Obverse 5 first used on 105.. 105a has many of the obverse die cracks so the progression could be studied there. Not sure where the prime for reverse E exists, or even if it does? That's something to explore!
