Someone told me that the wrapper from a 56 Topps is worth $100 so I've kept the wrappers...any truth to this?? Wrappers bring some… -
Re: IS THIS CARD TRIMMED--RESOLUTION
<< <i>Glad you got great service. There have been quite a few 56 Topps on eBay that are scanned vertically where I make myself dizzy tilting my head to see what the centering is really like! Your experience will make me even more careful. >> I too collect the 56 set and that is one of my pet peeves. It's unbelievable how… -
Re: Current Wait Time
<< <i> What makes the difference in processing times?? I sent an order for the '56 thru '63 sets @ $4.50 each. Perhaps mistakes in filling in the form(s) and/or payments calculated incorrectly slow things down so dramatically? >> I did 3 subs. The 1956-1963 came back in 5 days. I am still waiting for the pre 1956 and my "5… -
Re: How long do you hold personal checks before shipping out coin?
John, It wasnt for the 56. That guy paid me with a cashiers check, and not only that, sent it next day air. On the 56 auction, I specified payment must be made in certified funds. When ever, I buy coins locally, I pay with cash. When ever I buy from out of town I send Postal mo's up to 2900.00 and send cashiers checks for… -
Re: Post a mint set toned silver Roosevelt.
<< <i> << <i> << <i>Now that's a nice mint set Jim! >> Thanks Greg, It's one of the best toned 56 sets I've seen. Now they're all (most) graded. The upper right Franklin came back MS66, but no star! If the dimes got the star why not the half? Sometimes one has to wonder what is in a grader's mind. >> >> Very sweet set,… -
Re: If you were the head of a card company, name things you would or would not do.
<< <i> << <i> For one thing, I would be as consistent as possible. One thing that drives me crazy is when some cards in a set are oriented in landscape and others are oriented in portrait. I would be consistent with it. I think it would be neat to have a whole Topps base set done in landscape again like 1955, 1956, and… -

Re: What constitutes original packaging for a 1956 mint set?
56 MS paper is mostly loose. They were all glued, but apparently with poor quality glue. I have never seen green paper on an original 56 set (not to say it doesn't exist). It's either pinkish....or grey (whitish) I have also seen mixed colors on original sets that I opened as they were sealed. Inner manila envelops are a… -

Re: Are there any LOST baseball cards (existed before, but today no surviving copies exist)?
Well, I just finished off (I think, anyway) a very tough set and it contains an enigma: 1946 Propagandas Montiel #90 Oswald Bluege The curious case of the Oswald Bluege card and the empty spot Despite there being a spot for the card in the album (lower right, above), I don’t believe the card exists and may never have been…
