I saw those marks but did not suspect them to be graffiti as each segment looks to be made a different way. Definitely agree that for many items “one must see the coin in hand to proper grade it”. (View Post)1 -

My guess, it is likely accidental skin grease from its raw days and took many years to have a visible effect. No way to know if it could be improved without removing from holder and it could continue… (View Post)2 -
