Yes and there were some privately minted examples sold. Nancy Reagan was against it, and I appreciate her opinion as politicians on coins is a minefield. (View Post)3 -

Except in the case of the Ephraim Brasher counterstamps in the 1780s's those were validation chops akin to what was going on in Asia. (View Post)1
