Agree. That coin was in a fire or someone was playing with his torch. Heat on a clad coin can cause that bubble effect. (View Post)5 -

I've never seen it explained but my theory is there may be some air trapped between the clad layers that expands under high temperature that causes the bubble to form. (View Post)2 -
