Nice looking set, never seen that before. To answer your question, that is damage that occurred after the coin was struck. Looks like it has been dropped or the edge was struck to slightly flatten it… (View Post)1 -

Just damage on a 170 year old coin. Hard to say exactly what caused the damage, probably accumulated over the years. Doesn’t really matter though, damage is damage. (View Post)1
